Poem and Asemics from Catherine Petre

This recent asemic style of Catherine's has captivated me: Wonderful--I love it! The thickness and spirit of the asemics are strong and dramatic.  Catherine also included a poem she loves, called "Klem," by Flemish poet Eva Cox. If you're one of those people who can't help but reach out and touch art, say a Van Gogh at an art museum because his brushstrokes are calling you, maybe you should join the Haptic Poetry group here. And if you have a penchant for disobeying…

The postal service in Decatur, Georgia, delivered a gift of the mind and soul from Karen Camplin in Highland Park, Illinois. It is from Karen that I receive the first "enveloped" mail art, which adds an entirely new dimension to mail art for me! Layered visual communication! The "feel" of the envelope is love, frivolity, attendance to image, a presence in the form of a finger print--is it Karen's?

Then inside, there is something more quiet, more layered--profound and warmly…

Received from Diane Keys, USA--Backhand Writing

This piece is one of my favorites I have received from Diane so far. I like the muted and faded colors, images, and text. It almost looks like an old page from some bibliophile's diary.

Thank you very much,… Continue
