Asemic Red(s) - from Karen Champlin

Valentine's day brought me a fantastic package from Karen. A package that has been through a lot! If Karen voluntarily aged and dirtied the envelope, great job, because it looks very real! If on the other hand it is the work of the postal system I demand apologies! :-) I mean, how did they manage to poke a hole through it? (those damn holes are following me alright...).

An asemic island - from Karen Champlin



I commented on Cheryl's blog the other day about how much I like the asemic world and how much beautiful art was coming out of it. It's a strange feeling, something not unlike jealousy. Like wishing one had done that piece oneself. And I feel like this with Karen's asemic writing too. Asemic Haïku for Marie - from De Villo Sloan



Sloan's work is taking a turn towards serious asemic writing (not that it wasn't serious before), and I was thrilled to get one of his new creations in my mailbox the other day. This is a truly mesmerizing piece, in fact I can barely keep my eyes off of it. More than writing, it is a personalized haïku, which makes it even more special, if that is possible.
