Silhouette Add & Pass from E

The other day in the mail, an Add & Pass that originated with "E" arrived via Theresa Williams ... I've added 2 John Lennons, a facsimile butler and bull in a frame (the original having been added to a Svenja Wahl collage that she was kind enough to send to me), and an inspirational quote about puzzles and pieces and being your own world ... a surrealistic touch if ever…

Midnight Hour from Theresa Williams

Theresa, a certain household member is offering bribes to have this piece. And the stakes grow higher.

Nice pairing with Vera Pavlova's poem. Thanks Theresa and another thank you for the introduction to a new…

Two Greats from Carina Granlund and Theresa Williams

These are so late to blogging, as I got behind (again), that we have seen them several times now, and in better shape than my scanner sometimes handles art. But I loved receiving this POSITIVE yes envelope from Carina and the intriguing enclosure:

(Scanner freaks out at transparent neon, darn it.) Thank you very much, Carina!

Theresa's poignant "small things"…

Received from Theresa Williams, Emmy Verschoor, Angie and Snooky, KDJ

Trying to catch up again, I have so much great mail I would like to show you. If only days had a few more hours it would be so much easier :-)

Theresa is telling me about a great dream she had, and I was featuring! I love her fish stamp, her calligraphy, the whole package...…

New Arzamas Literary Circle pieces from Theresa Williams

First Solstice III, one of my favorites from Theresa, with a Ruskin quote on the back:

What follows is, I believe, a New Arzamas letter communication from Theresa to me, rich with Kandinsky, Mallarme, and ... Williams!…

Two from Theresa Williams

A great deal of richness in these two mailings, the first on "outsider" art:

The second, Solstice II, begins with a wonderful asemic collage by Theresa--torn out of her own journal--accompanied by a Kenneth Ames quote on the back:…

Theresa Williams and James Ensor

...on the way to the 1st Annual IUOMA Hallowe'en Ball: Very nice and graceful rendering of Ensor...covered with bats and hiding behind a nearly Pinocchio-type mask, poor guy. Theresa knows her subjects very well, though, and so she knows what she is doing here. Ensor would appreciate it, and I do too. Thank you so much for this, Theresa, and especially for the epistolary poem on… Continue

Ghost Stories to Read during Rain Storms -- from Theresa Williams

Another "Trashpo" book--self defined by the artists--though I would have been loath to define it that way myself. Theresa Williams's handmade Trashpo rubber stamp has found it's place inside on a few pages, though that has to be the biggest clue!  Maybe a melding of genres... The book itself is a handsome collection of art papers and perfectly chosen found/torn black and white illustrations.. the whole thing bound with gold chord.  Theresa has been working hard on the New Tombstone Group and…

Church of the Air – from Theresa Ann Aleshire Williams

Another piece that arrived – first time receiving – from Theresa.

I am full of admiration for new members like Theresa and like Nancy [Bell Scott]—two who immediately come to mind—who jump with both feet and are able to let loose with such…

Theresa Williams and Walt Whitman

I find this beautiful beyond words:

For some, it may be a first to see a photo of Walt Whitman younger than how he is usually pictured, as an old man with white beard.  Here he is the handsome, sensitive, strong, and yet vulnerable-looking poet of his earlier years (in his 30s?), when he began to write "Leaves of Grass," and Theresa's piece has done him full justice, in…

Thank you, Theresa!  This image shows the front and back of Theresa's folding card.  The following image is of the inside, bearing a most interesting quote by Leonardo da Vinci.…
