Mim Golub Scalin: Banana

I could find no fault with Mim's Banana Mail Art piece.  The name is spelt correctly, correct postage stamps were included, no messy glue traces, there is a banana present, and it's even yellow.  It's perfect.  Bravo Mim

Thank you Mim.  Now my turn at a try with…

Mim Golub Scalin: Paris Map

Very clever Mail Art from Mim.  Referring to my Lost Mail Art Group by sending me a map of Paris.  And exactly the quarter I live in.

Thank you Mim.  I am lost for words.

Mim Golub Scalin: Trouble in Tiny Town

An excellent "altered" version of Maurice Utrillo's Street in Sannois.  The folks of Sannois woke up one Sunday morning to find this huge crate in the street.

They called me on Monday morning to ask if I would be interest in coming to Sannois to take the crate away and make Mail Art with it.

Sure I said, so I picked it up, sent most of it to Suus in Mokum for a Banana project, and a leftover piece will be going out to Mim.  Problem…

Mim Golub Scalin: Does the 3D Can Can with no holding back

The mailman carried this one up to the top floor to give it to me personally.  "Here you go Monsieur Marks.  Do you think there's art in there?"  "I don't know Bill, I'll have to open it", I said.

I don't think the mailman's real name is Bill, I just call him that.  I think he likes it as it gives him an International appearance.  Much better than those double barreled French names like Jean-Claude, Mark-Francois and…

Mim Golub Scalin: 153 year old French letter with British approval

Simple yet WOW.  An old Paris map (doesn't have the velib (bicycle) stations, and a 153 year old letter in French.  Not to be mistaken for a French Letter. Yes you can google it.

The letter in French was stamped in Newcastle on Tyne, UK (where Val comes from) on March 13, 1860.  Amazing how the two go together so well.

Thank you Mim, material do…

A postcard from Mim Golub Scalin

Mim altered a MOMA postcard for me. It's much better now!!! Thank you Mim!!

It says, "'We tend to forget that happiness doesn't come as a result of getting something we don't have, but rather of reorganizing and appreciating what we do have.' -Fredrick Koeing"

That's very apt!!! I would think it is akin to Mail Art. But, seems like…

Postcard no. 288 from Mim, she's getting there!

A wonderful minimal work: The slicing or carrying that's happening to the alphabet here really appeals to me. The shapes and the spots of color along with it make for an extra nice composition. I love it, and always love her address side too, with "official" stamps: …
