My red-violet autumn flowers like the mail art that arrived during the week while I was traveling. Here is the perfect blue-taped-envelope from Karen Champlin and inside, a wonderful ATC! There isn't a map fragment, but I so spot the front of a gondola from Venice printed there or is that an asemic symbolThank you, Karen, 'love the "Lό ve", too!…

Super beautiful collage from Karen Champlin, as always! And my favorite detail: map fragment! (Well that bird, vintage train schedule, and poem are all tops, too!). But location must be Ohio, yes? Youngstown, Ohio? And that train from Boston to Braintree...let the imagination travel. Thank you, Karen!…

Had a mail art delivery today at the seaside shack, and there are wondrous treasures to behold!

Always a joy to see a "Karen card" in the mailbox! A bit of "artful...artfully" and textured rubbings,

even her finger print, as we dance across the stamped landscape of art Nation.

And in the  corner....Karen knows,

Another stunning layered collage from Karen was in my mail box today...(actually 2 cards from Karen!)

"W" is the unknown known of her asemic piece. And the scan does not do justice to the fine textures and colors of the papers, but they are FAB! Vintage penmanship writings in the background make for a gentle asemic landscape.

Thick, rich, black paint, with screening and a bit of asemic (reverse) writings,

 a touch of a circle upon the red...and "the poet sings" and so does Karen! this is

a small ATC, so imagiine a miniature world of Karen's art. and another one, too:"believe":…

Happy Pink and Blue Bunnies, with funny pear and flowers and star stickers! "Cute"? No HAPPY MAIL!

How amazing is the work of Karen! And each piece is unique and more dynamic than the earlier ones received.

These two are "companion" pieces, as it is "my man with the blue beret" and his "house". Asemic writings are

stamped throughout and haptic textures abound!…

Sometimes, when a package like this arrives, you almost don't want to hurry to open it. It is better to linger and spend time with the details of the envelope, the soft refineness of the wrapping...let anticipation built a bit, because you just know that itis going to be something special from Karen!
