My first visit to my new P.O. box was not a disappointment, as I received this surprising piece of mail from Tammy Riggins. I remember commenting on her photo that the poem against the green background was beautiful--and she sent me a piece of it! I thought this was especially thoughtful. The face collage is simple and interesting, and the handmade envelope was…

This is the second envelope of art I have received from Moan Lisa/Maria Morisot. "Haunting" is the best word I can use to describe the work I receive from this artist. It is also extremely original.

This isn't about mail art specifically, but it is in the same spirit of collaboration and art as gift, which is of course very much in line with what mail art is about. Also, you can see what I look (and sound) like. I don't like…

At first I had mistaken the item for a sort of postcard, as it was so thin and taped on all sides, and the envelope was just so wonderfully done in ink with a coyote print on rice paper glued on. The quote on the envelope is attributed to Tennyson and reads "Like a dog...hunt in your dreams." This envelope is made from found paper, i.e., a pamphlet cover. Juana let me know that the coyote head was an intaglio…

It's a little rough around the edges (literally) but I like it. Looking forward to, you know, stamping stuff with it.
