Chris wells's Blog (68)

coming out of mail art semi-retirement (or that's the plan, anyway)

Hello everyone - Wow! it's been almost three years since my last blog post here, and two years since I've hosted a mail art show here in Columbus. I've missed my regular mail art exchanges and want to renew the practice. I'm planning on mailing some things out this late summer/early fall, hopefully September.

I'd be glad to get mail from you again (of course, mail for the first time is cool, too).

Since my temporary semi-retirement from mail art, I've been sharing art…

FIÈVRE by John M Bennett - a TLP from Luna Bisonte Prods

I am experimenting with blogging on IUOMA-Ning again to highlight the photos I upload to the site. It isn't necessarily the easiest endeavor but seems, perhaps, worth the trouble.

For this experimental post I am going to share John M. Bennett's TLP FIÈVRE in detail. Above is the cover. Below is the rest of this work of visual poetry. Enjoy!…

from Dean - 5/19/2016

I got this card from Dean. It's got kind of a Blade Runner feel to it. Perhaps soon they will make a barcode that is more human than human. Who knows? Here is the reverse, where he thanks me for the visual poem "a past" that I sent him:…

from Richard Canard - 5/19/2016

Richard Canard revised the quote I received from Juana and sent me his version. This one certainly rings true for me. My fantasy team loses every year, so much so that I am considering calling it "reality football" (when it comes to the NFL, I am a Lions fan, so this may make sense).

Here is the reverse of the card, where he encourages me to share this with Juana and…

from Juana - 5/13/2016

This wonderful calligraphic / enso piece features an aphorism by Juana's husband. It's quite a wonderful saying. Although you cannot smell it, this piece smells wonderful, too, as if it has been in a room where some great-smelling incense has been burning.

Thanks,…
