Are you pretty? asks Carina Granlund

Carina send this super-collage and asks "are you pretty? Why did she ask? Look at my profile pic - I'm a bit damaged, but still pretty, I think ... ? Carina used some kind of tape transfer  and a picture of a bird which didn't find her approval (crossed out).

Together with a very kind note (thank you!) she also send this card: …

Thank You So Much

I have received some AMAZING ART in the last few weeks and I am going to scan them very soon, tell the story and share its glory with the rest of you.

I hit a big wall of artist block (too bad it isn't made of wax I could just melt it) and I am trying to break out of it by making my lovely mother a counterfeit "Smash Book" (You can look it up on line to see what they are)  It is a big project but I think when I am done it will open my mind up to a bunch of new ideas.  I am…

Val. Hope you guys document the actual event. Dean, in looking up Recolant it seems it means from a small, boutique vineyard. Whatever it means it must be ok with you. and this piece is ok with me. :-) Thanks! Love it.…

Mail art from Jim SantAmour and Pedro Bericat

A great piece from Jim SantAmour!

I took part in a soundtrack project called "1 minute autohypnosis" that Pedro Bericat organized, and he was kind enough to send out this object.  The package contains a CD disk with all of the participants' soundtracks along with an embossed image of a 33 1/3RPM record.  Pretty cool!  To listen to all of the CDs…

Romantic Greeting from Switzerland

Received this  inviting piece from Janine! It is made with tissue paper, paint, and some other transparent textured overlay. It is warm like her and very Fall-ish. Maybe it is Fall in Switzerland?

Heavy-duty tape transfer from Jon Foster

Something new in the neighborhood?

If it is tape, it's Jon Foster!

This mail art from Jon is mysterious and vague under layered packaging tape.

"So...this ...means you"? "It's an..." arty piece :-)

Great texture and…

Aspirin to Marie Antoinette - from Lisa Iversen @ Skybridge Studios

No return address on the card but I am pretty sure this is Lisa's beautiful calligraphy. I hope I am right! If I am not, well, it is still a fantastic handwriting, painted on a thick book cover. Another "give it away" is the line about Marie Antoinette (about as much help as aspirin would have been to Marie Antoinette). I might be wrong here again but it looks…

Sewn organic boekie from Alicia Starr

A beautiful and delicate boekie from Alicia. I am not sure what kind of paper she has used, is it a kind of rice paper? It would fit the organic theme very well. Tea at the farm on a late spring evening, surrounded by chicken, or as Vizma would say, chooks :-)) I like chooks better. Alicia also included Japanese text, a piece of sewing pattern, and to wrap up…
