You describe exactly what is difficult in an artist work. To give a sense of something, but without clearly explaining it ... It's so difficult, but sometimes I can approach a little sense perhaps in the 'mistakes I make "..To be creative seems to be a balancing between making mistakes and self-control...

Hi again, Carina. Thank you for your friendship!

I have seen three "Surface" pieces. Each one is very different. Each one speaks to me in a different way. I think they mean many different things.

This is the more difficult part to explain - each one is like a calm pool reflecting something above. But beneath the surface of the water - the simple reflection - many other things are concealed that we cannot see but you somehow let us sense them? Do you know what I mean at all? This is obscure. Each also suggests a mystery or something more beneath the surface.

I do like them. I look forward to exchanging work.

Thanks De Villo Sloan for such nice comments! I like to work with series just because there might be a surprising content, but sometimes I struggle forever to see the meaning and content....!

Carina, I love these "Surface" pieces. (Are they a little Sur-real?). I think the content is fantastic but also the concept of focusing on the surface of the art, the material, and the things represented in the pieces. Really fine, almost divine!
