You see here one of my original handmade "Fußstuhl" - a wooden upcycled chair over and over patched with old real stamps from Germany. I gave it the title „Dauerhaft-Schöne-Bunte-Blumen“. And here is the story:

I spent seven long years collecting stamps to finally gather enough for this completely covered footstool. The collage is made entirely from German stamps from the definitive "Flowers" series, which has been in circulation since January 3, 2005, and is the first – and this is quite remarkable for a definitive series! – to be produced using the elaborate multicolor offset printing process. Deutsche Post AG beautifully describes the reason for the issue: "The 'Flowers' series aims to draw people's attention to the beauty and diversity of flowers in gardens and the wild in Germany with modern yet timeless motifs. The colorful and evocative depictions are intended to help rediscover and enjoy the small joys of everyday life, which are often barely noticed in our hectic times."

I wholeheartedly agree and am displaying the colorful motifs on a bright orange upholstered footstool.
