Why I Had to Hide the Clipper, gouache, spring 2022 (although the original tragedy occurred in the autumn of 2020 and we are just now seeing some recovery)
Comment
28.04.22 Dare Ms. Gwendolynium, ...I used to live in Winston-Salem (Forsyth County) & fondly remember the excitement of some vague association & the first signs of spring with Forsythia. I've always admired those untamed long arching spans of yellow but understand that things can get crowded or in the way. There is a yard here in Carbondale that contains a huge well-groomed 'minimal art' type block of Forsythia approx. 5ft.h.x7ft.w.x12ft.l. I think of it to be a creation by Mother Nature & Mrs. Donald Judd. ...& it was (sorta simultaneously) the Concrete Poet Mary Ellen Solt (Indiana) & her version 'Forsythia' that inspired me to seek introduction & appreciation for concrete poetry. ..... SinCelery, Richard Canard
