her family pioneered in several areas of the u.s., grigori, moving ever farther westward over the years. i have a photograph of herat about the age of 21, taken in kansas, holding up a dead rattlesnake she had killed with a garden hoe. the snake was as long as she was tall. she was a character, as are many of the women in my family lineage.

the pioneer heritage stamp, however, is not a "real world" series, but in the imaginary "fauxreal republlic." there will be several more to add to this first, "virginia grace," and then i'll send them out as a set. i haven't written the republic's pioneer heritage yet.; i tend to make pictures first, then come up with the story they tell. will include the story either in here or accompanying the sheet. would you care for a set when they're done? no telling when that might be, but happy to pass them along.
