Why I am involved in Mail-Art:
In 1999 I attended Burning Man. While there I discovered they had a Post Office, handing out mailart to whoever wanted it. They carved their own stamps, too. I was entranced. I started carving stamps and trying to do mail art. I love sending letters and other things through the mail but I cannot be trusted to be part of a group project or meet a deadline. I'd love to find others to share mailart with, though.

Hi, Amy, welcome to iuoma -- I've only been a member since the beginning of this year, and it took me a few dozen hours of exploration in the site to get the gist of it enough that I'm not frustrated any more. I wonder if it's intentionally obtuse to push members off the computer and back to the drawing board or even off for a walk to the post office. Personally, I'm grateful that there are no addictive algorithms to wear down the critical thinking brakepads. If you are interested in a little more familiar layout, try Mail Art News for some history and weekly iuoma updates, as well as a nice list of resources.
