In most cases one person sends a card, & the recipient mails one in return. The exception to this method is when someone puts out an 'Art Call' dealing with a specific theme; in which case they are usually displayed at a show & not generally returned to the sender.
I've never submitted a piece to one of these since I only joined the network two months ago. However, I did send a card to you in the mail today; random inspiration hit last night & I made five cards, one of which was for you :-) .
(I hope this rambling response helped.)

Oh! My mother, Cindy Wills is a IUOMA member also & has been at this much longer than me. Not to mention a much better artist (grrr). I'm sure she'd be more than happy to trade knowledge & art with you.
