I love the idea of making something and immediately sending it away to someone, for free, for fun. I usually take a day or less to make my cards and it suits my short attention span. It's very gratifying to hear that someone was both surprised and pleased by their small gift. I also like the occasional collaboration with other mail artists.

Toni, thank you for the lovely ATC and bird envelope. I love them. I'm glad to be exchanging with you. BTW, my mom went to South Eugene HS. I don't know her address.
Toni, thanks for your friendship! Yesterday the moon-cat card arrived, really very nice!
It reminds me a bit of the cat in Alice in Wonderland and at the same time of a famous painting of a german romantic painter. Thanks so much! I will write soon!
Hey, hallo Toni! Quite a magic that I didn't know anything about iouma before... have been sending weird self made postcards to my pals about twenty years already :) Nice to be here!
Glad to see that you liked my "Launches April 12" card.
Unfortunately, I have experienced upheavals in my life lately. In January, I went in for a routine mammogram. Early in February, I learned that I had breast cancer again, this time in my left breast. ( I had it in my right breast in 2012). In mid-February, I had surgery on that breast, only to learn later on that the surgeon did not get all of the cancer. For awhile, there was talk of a bi-lateral mastectomy, which scared the poop out of me. Thank God that the bi-lateral mastectomy was later ruled out, as I had seen pictures of one on the Internet that looked like something out of a horror movie! On Good Friday (March 25), I had a second surgery done on the left breast. Had a medical appointment on March 31, and this time I was told that the surgeon was able to remove ALL of the cancer with the second surgery. It was great to hear that I'm finally free of cancer! Now I'm just waiting for radiation to begin, I should get a call within the next two weeks telling me when that will start. (I had radiation for six weeks in 2013, and it wasn't that bad, though I was uncomfortable towards the end of it.)
Doing mail art has helped keep me sane through all of this. Hope to have something in the mail for you soon. - Gail Anderson
i'm glad the ATCs arrived and you dug the envelope. i really should put more effort into the envelopes but sometimes i can't be bothered. i'm sad to hear the card never reached you. i'm sure i put my return address on it too just in case. i suspect it got mangled in the post. :( but maybe it'll show up yet. i dropped some more ATCs in the mail to you yesterday so i suspect you will have those next week.
Yes, Toni... that pc depicts both a skull and my Aunt Drusilla... the family doesn't speak much of her, because she had conversations with buildings, called my uncle "Gertie" (his name was Alphonse), has an eating disorder (live parakeets... all those feathers flying... *shudder*), and is institutionalized.
Thanks Toni-I can't wait to see your next piece!
I sometimes worry that some of my mail doesn't reach it's destination. Glad to hear the post office at least returned the "Nixd" envelope back to you.
Hi Toni. Thank you for your very kind words. I'm so happy that you like my paintings. I sent the article so you could enjoy all the flowers, I never meant it to be read..... :-D (Danish is a very difficult language!). Grethe :)
yay! yes, that's the card that we thought had gotten lost. it must have just taken the scenic route! i'm glad you dug it. there's a little cut up bit going on with lonny and ken. i thought you'd appreciate that. i've wanted to do that more - but most of the time i'm too lazy...:)
Hi Toni, glad you got the postcard! You definitely SHOULD open the little envelope - it has a poem inside (not written by me!) that goes with the card!
Thank you for your feedback Toni! The first month or two of my 365 project, I was spending a lot of time on each card... as my home life spiraled into total disarray, I realized I couldn't keep up that pace! So, it's up and down. Sometimes I spend half an hour, sometimes several hours, and sadly I have had many days where I don't do one at all. Still committed to the 365, but now know it will take me longer than 12 months.
Me? A chessmaster? Haha...working on it. Going over databases of games from the past. Not sure what else to do with my life. trying to get the mail art machines going again and then I thought "Let me combine these two interests."
Foie gras ! )
Hi Toni. Thank you so much for your cards, they are really beautiful. Such a lovely surprise! I admire the way you make your cards, I think they are amazing! And the envelope as well! The cat is my favorite animal, I just love cats! Grethe :)

I'm guessing you're also into poetry - I'm doing Ntl Poetry Month stuff on my blog right now - come have a look if you are interested...
