I love to create things - but even more than that I like to share the things I make. I love the inspiration that comes from receiving art from others, and nothing beats the experience of holding actual art (as opposed to just looking at electronic images, say). I like having 'treats' to look forward to - and receiving mail art is a big treat for me. I get huge joy from imagining how my art is travelling, and how it will be received when it arrives. It makes me smile.

Thanks so much for the great ephemera you sent me. I especially like the postcard with the human form stamps. I am very sorry for being so late in responding with my thanks. Now that the holidays are over, I'm hoping to concentrate on getting some mail art done. I will send you something soon. Thank you for thinking of me. Happy New Year! Terry Owenby
Hi Petrolpetal!
I just wanted to say thank you so very much for the wonderful mail art! I received a beautiful envelope with a very nice piece of mail art inside.
A BIG thank you for making my (and my mailbox's) day!
I will send you a thank you mail as soon as I can. :-)

Hi Petrolpetal, I received this great postcard in my mailbox today. I posted pics in my gallery. I experimented with orientation and chose this one as it seems to reveal the face of a woman wearing earrings and lipstick. I love this art, thank you! I will mail you something soon. :) :)
Hi Petrolpetal...thanks so much for the mail art that arrived this week. The wonderful imagery seems to evoke a a jungle or verdant landscape. I was very impressed with the stamp which features the South African Taita Falcon (an endangered species). We also have endangered peregrine falcons in the USA. So it was enlightening to read about your endangered Taita Falcon which is a victim of pesticides, as are our peregrine falcon and other birds. We now have 250 pairs of peregrine falcons, up from only 2. They have been bred in captivity locally over the past 40+ years, and then released. San Jose, California, a neighboring city, has a pair that nests on the City Hall building. Each spring the nest is observed by means of a web cam. I've been an avid watcher of the Falcon Cam, as it is called. The city's school children enter a contest to name the birds.
Hi Petrolpetal---I was intrigued by the stamp on the mail that you sent. It looked like a falcon, a bird that I particularly admire. I have seen them locally in the nature park where I walk. I researched the stamp online and was surprised to find that the Taita was as endangered as our US falcons. The breeding center that is repopulating our falcons is about 30 miles from here. No need to send the stamps except on mail to me. Thanks for offering.
I forgot to mention in my comment that I really like the postage stamp you used on the laminated card. I was surprised that the stamp was still affixed to the card when it arrived because the stamp slid off easily when I touched it, as if there was no glue whatsoever. :-)
Thank you so much for the fantastic mail art! I received it a few weeks ago but went on a retreat with no internet connection so I couldn't say thank you!

I am traveling through Central America right now but I received your collage and paper goodies in Nicaragua! Thank you, as always, for your amazing mail. I love it! A postcard will make its way to South Africa soon :)
Thank you very much for your beautiful mail art collage. It arrived safely, today. I love the colours, touches of sparkle and the unique packaging is great for display. Enjoy your trip and happy creating... cheers.
Thank you very much, PetrolPetal, for your beautiful mail art!
I received it already almost two weeks ago, but am too busy to keep up, so sorry for my late note...
I've posted it also here. And couldn't resist to name it 'Hurray', as I see two happy faces (and one wondering if there's a party starting), I see 'hurray!'-gesturing hands, and tomorrow is your b-day.
Happy birthday in advance!
Love the stamp, and the way it has been cancelled, too! Thank you very much!

Essentially,
most of what you see there is related to my activity in Paris between 1985 - 1999
(or there abouts).
As I no longer do Activations
and have not since about 1995,
there is nothing to add.
There are unpublished pages that need cleaning up on my To Do List, however.
It seems that I am more active in present and do not dwell on the past which is what that blog is mostly about.
