A need to create but keeping it all achievable - will be keeping to postcards - couldn't really cope with anything larger. Am a bit overwhelmed by all the ARTISTS & not sure if I will ever be able to put myself in the same class.

Oh thank you Chris - that gives me faith on the postal service and I think I'll only use envelopes if I really need to. Do you always send your flood art envelope-free? :>)))

  • stripygoose

wow Chris - that sounds amazing.I know Sarah's been experimenting with what she can send in the post...

  • Rebecca Cook

I'm so happy it made it safely! (I'm assuming all 3 buttons were on) Wish we lived closer too! :)

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Thank you, Chris, the beautiful birds from Australia arrived in Greece today! Lovely stitchery, too. You are heading close to "365"? Go, girl!

Ha ha, that's so funny, of course you're forgiven!! I'd love to know who these Latvians are that you know...yes, we are a weird bunch! What led you to believe I was Finnish?

  • vizma bruns

Oh yeah, I went to Latvian summer camp with the Siksna girls! Saw the parents in Riga a few weeks back, but I don't know the other people you mentioned. Blonde and over 60,so funny!
  • Mim Golub Scalin

Glad the envelope got to A.I.R. Any images of the exhibit?

  • Mim Golub Scalin

Yes, Chris, I have several circle cutters. They are expensive here, also, but I was lucky to find the biggest one on sale at a shop that was going out of business. Quite a lucky find. It's the punch kind. I have a circle cutter that came with my button making kit. it's hard to use as I have to manually turn the little cutter around to make the circle. I do love those circles!

    G'day Chris!

Thanks for the fabric printed brilliant postcard!! It's better in real life! Is that your Brissy house on the front? I'm going to show it at Artspace as soon as my camera gets charged up!

    Thanks, LOVE it!

  • vizma bruns

Wow, whereabouts up North?? Have a brilliant time, don't get drunk and stitch your work to your jeans!! ;-)

  • vizma bruns

Oooh, 8 and a half hours until the solar eclipse in QLD!! Once in 300 years, don't look straight at it Chris!!

  • vizma bruns

Glad you like the foot down, it was just a little mail to keep in touch. So funny about your husband being right for once!!!! HA!! So WHERE did you go North with your mates? And why would you think it's the last time you'll be doing the trip? You're still a young chook!

Happy Birthday Greetings from Greece, Christine,

and Happy Mail Art New Year 2013! "XRONIA POLLA"!

  • stripygoose

Hi Chris - glad the ant got to you safely - it's a long way for those spindly legs to carry him! :> )
  • andytgeezer

We do hope to be getting out of the UK by September, but I'll keep you posted. :-) It may be a while but I'm aiming to get to Oz as I've wanted to take Elena there for a while

  • Elaine Arvati

    Sure, Christine!  Let's exchange!

I know western Ohio is pretty flat--it's a bit less rural and more rust-belty here.  Have a good day!

    Elaine

  • vizma bruns

Yay Trash! Glad it got there...it's actually the very same envo that you sent me yonks ago, your 1st mail to me, of the flooded imagery. It didn't get stamped and I thought I'd see if it'd get back to you! And it did. Yay, freemail!

Glad the floods aren't near you, and the fires aren't near me either. A very lucky summer so far. AND no snake bites!!

  • vizma bruns

Hi Chris! Just letting you know that I posted you an Add and Pass today...a boekie that's going around, so don't get too excited cos you have to pass it on,...when you're ready! I had it for about a fortnight.

    Man, it's boiling today.

Thank you for mailart 249. It's like a serene landscape. Love your stitchery : > )

Glad to see that the Valentine Hug arrived at least within February :-)

Long way to travel to Aussie!

  • Elaine Arvati

Glad you got the maniac! Going crazy with our winter here-- you lucky Australian you!
  • Laura P (spopod)

Christine, I had mailart returned " return to sender"  that I send to you. I sent it to the address that is listed above, is that still current? Please let me know so I can resend it. Thanks, Laura

  • Laura P (spopod)

Strange! I'll resend it this week!

  • stripygoose

Hi Chris - thank you ! Not sure what do with myself now I have 365ed... Still have quite a few to post though - and you are we'll on the way to the magic number too : > )
  • Laura P (spopod)

Hey Chris, glad they arrived, still weird the first one was returned. I altered the photo for the snow monkeys with a little bit of spray on bleach. The monkeys were then collaged on to the photo. It probably does have the look of your flood photos!

  • Rebecca Guyver

And I got your cuppa! I've blogged it here. Look forward to seeing you in Suffolk!

  • Valentine Mark Herman

    Thank you/Merci.

I look fowrard to receive it, and to be enlightened about 'Flood Art'. We have lots of art here, but no floods as things are pretty dry...but not as dry as your great outback.

    Regards, Val

  • Valentine Mark Herman

    Hi!

I finally got round to reading your Flood Art article that you kindly sent me. I like it, and your approach to life. You managed to turn a disaster -- how sad it must have been to loose all that 'stuff' -- into a Mail Art achievement, and, in so doing, creating a new genre. I am sure that future Mail Art historians will forever link Flood Art and Christine Jones together.

I, too, had a 365 project a couple of years ago. I mailed myself a different envelope every day for a year (and then exhibited them a couple of times). If you go to my web-site www.val-herman-art.eu, and then Envelope Art (on the left hand side), and then Envelope a Day, you'll see the project. The Introductory text is probably more interesting than the 365 ernvelopes that follow!

    Thanks again, and best wishes,

    Val

  • Valentine Mark Herman

    Any time: see ya!

But some times we don't serve cuppas, we serve wine or beer or pastis or whatever's going down right then.

I could even find a Fosters' frostie for you if you like

  • Mail Art Martha

I also enjoyed our lunch, it was great to meet you and so lucky we managed it. Since then I have been reorganizing my work room, in aid of changing the carpet tiles. A huge task but glad now it is over, almost. I am looking forward to start working again.

By the way, Val serves very nice wine and nibbles in the terrace of his amazing house.

Jonesy! You're back!? I got 'mail art meet' mail from you yesterday, I think you got back faster than the mail did!! Did you get my email a few weeks ago? I sent to the address on this page. I hope there'll be photos or a blog somewhere of your adventures?!

    Welcome back new granny!! ;-)

  • stripygoose

You're very welcome Chris. Enjoy your day - from stripygoose
  • stripygoose

Wishing you a very happy birthday Chris - have a good one!

  • vizma bruns

Chrissyyyy!!!! I got your cool hefalump card!! Thanks!! Arrived in perfect condition! You must have some good glue!! It didn't even peel anywhere during the heat!!

It's finally cooling, we don't even have air-con, so it was pretty tough, especially at night, getting into bed and it felt as though someone had just vacated it!! Yuck.

  • Laura P (spopod)

Chris, glad you liked the piece! still plugging away on my second round of 365.

  • Rebecca Guyver

Very exciting Chris!  I was just thinking about you, yesterday! I had an email from an Australian friend (couple) we hadn't seen in sixteen years.  Those mad people drove six hours from Durham to see us and then went to Peterborough.  Wondered how you both are, how quilting is going and remembered that I owe you a piece of mail art… luckily you seem to have overlooked that!  I'll be in touch soon and looking forward to your mail art.

  • stripygoose

Three cheers Chris - thanks for the message. Hope all's well - looks like you're pretty busy!

  • Rebecca Guyver
