Found this today when I was moving a chair and thought, hmm, I am definitely one of the original code breakers. Can you spot me in this school photo when I taught English at an English secondary school - six years ago? I'm sure there was no memo about colour! Loved the comment about the enforcement officer on yesterday's ML page!
Wow so much thinking on a packing day does my head in, but I remember when that song came out and dancing around the KZSU radio station between segues.
Thanks for the info DVS - got me back on track (lord the comp can be just too-too distracting!) I sent her a missive as a "comment" - hope she reads it!
As are you, my friend. That photo is of one of my Warhammer 40K models, assembled & painted by yours truly. It's a tabletop wargame I collect, build, & play. I felt I needed a break from mail-art, but have recently rediscovered that elusive inspirational spark for it again. Would you mind if I sent you something once I get back into the groove?
DVS, I have spent the last hour trying to reprint the catalog (all copies there) so I could show you your page but my non-mathematical brain has been flummoxed because there is reversing etc and the printer didn't save the changes. It looks and read well and I think the next print will be correct... but you will just have to wait until later because I've got to get the vittles going before I can send you an image! Thank you AGAIN. Also showed your homage in the VISPO book to all and sundry today.
Devillo, thanks for the latest-greatest DKult trashpo Newsletter! Thanks for keeping One of my all time great guitar heroes Mick Ronson alive("and the spiders from Mars) and Mr Reich, a scientific hero.....Your journalistic flair and excellence is filled with fun facts and orgone dreams! Still working on my orgone accumulater .Your vintage adds and photos remind me of the days of Jack Kirby, Marvel comics & Sea Monkeys! Peace/Love and Trash! "and we mean it man!"{J. Lydon}
DVS, I am still on Cranberry Island. I had your DKULT newsletter hand-delivered. I am circulating it around and hope to post it at the PL in some way soon. I'll let you and others know when it's made the rounds and the responses are written up!
It is GREAT and I am delighted to FINALLY have a copy of one! Thank you.
Re: the song, fitted right in, here in the barn, where Figgy was playing her fiddle and how'd you know we all want to learn the harmonica? DVS you've got your finger on the pulse of island living and backwoods new england.
I have been sending stuff out to many IUOMA Friends, you Nancy, and others, Did you get it yet???? Other wise i will have to channel Phillip K. Dick to find out whats happening to my outgoing mail???
Hope the worldliness of your fall schedule eases and you can finally get some" slack" from the vast machine! Just read an old review by Bukowski on Artauds anthology Transl. By Hirschman for city lights( circa )?, where "Chuck" called him"one of the worlds most beautiful madmen" and thought of you yesterday,--Not that your Mad...
Love the Dobbs sticker, everyone needs more "slack" DVS especially you! I heard Church of the Subgenuius still broadcasts the radio show on pirate radio on shortwave, I'll fire up the rig and see if i can get it in!!!!! "storm the reality studios" Man!
DeVillo, received the DKultNY Trashpo Fanzine; thank you! I;ve read the diary and am not sure I want to go to Panama . . . perhaps through the canal, but remaining aboard for the duration . . . Thank again, ksc.
DeVillo, hi, I hope all is well? May I ask if you've changed your address or P.O. number? I've sent you something and today it came back for the second time?? XX Svenja
I see from my voluminous records that you sent me a "visual poetryesque book" called "Ourang-Outang" & that I sent you a "dop e #5-6 + note on Mad Scientist Radio + Widemouth Catalog" & that you were living in Auburn, AL at the time. By the by, my "Poop & Pee Dog Copyright Violation Ceremony" was NOT a neoist performance (as you state somewhere here) but was part of the 3rd Convention of the Church & Foundation of the SubGenius. I co-organized the Con, in Sept, 1983, & also organized the 7th International Neoist Apartment Festival that followed hot on its heels. Both were in BalTimOre. Monty Cantsin (Istvan Kantor) was in attendance at the Con &, of course, at the APT. The living tongue of the Church of the SubGenius, Saint Janor Hypercleets, lingered on after the Con & also participated in the APT. Otherwise, except for my participation in & organization of both, they were separate events.
I am getting better at last, thank you for the good wishes, thank you for the explanation and thank you for the comic strip, above all thank you for being such a good fellow.
