Glad you liked my card -- and yes I got back from an art trip to Seattle and Portland to find your giant collaged card -- great welcome home. many thanks. Maybe whoever found that other card liked it and kept it -- boo on them!
Jon--The mail art display went well on Saturday. Our collaborative book received lots of kudos. It is being mail out Oct. 21st -today as you read this--to Jennie Hinchcliff for the 'mail/art/book' exhibit. I'll keep you posted.
Jon--this was a comment on the exhibit by K.S. Chambers/IUOMA. I mistakenly deleted it in my blog-sorry. "Wow, Mr. Foster is a mail art fanatic!!! Eight pieces in the one show. A standard for us all to reach for [that bar is mighty high, Jon, I may need a ladder]." Carmela, Congratulations on the success of the show.
Thanks a million for your bootcard. I'll post you something shortly. How's NaNoWriMo going for you? I think you should write about socks. Anything about socks is acceptable in my books.
Jon--I sent the invitation card as a courtesy to a fellow exhibitor. I don't expect you to attend, although it would be great if it fit into your plans. I've exhibited in a number of venues in the SF Bay area, but not at SF Center for the Book. So I'm excited about this. I'll be sure to take pictures for both of us.
Hi Jon--your latest 'zines arrived--Sad Jokes Nos. 7 & 8. I'll probably read all 30,000 words if for no other reason than to find out what a talented dude like you thinks about in his spare time. I can now read my husband's mind, so yours will be a new challenge ;-)
I'll get back to you with my thoughts in a month or so...
Jon, just finished your "fugazi" zine...it was hilarious and I Loved the rambling style. Your writing envokes vivid images. So glad to hear you laugh at farts too!!!
Thanks Jon! I got your zine today and almost finished it, well, half of it, but decided to save some for another day... is it ok to take the staples out? I can't read the bits near the spine, you must have been pissed when you stapled it. I hope it won't lose it's value, cos I might need money one day and may have to sell it. But really, thanks, love your zines.
I'm thinking if this is the only one of your zines in Oz, it may well be worth millions. So I'll keep the staples in and flick the pages back and forth at the end of each row. It'll extend the reading experience. (and test my patience!!) ;-)
Jon--I visited the San Francisco Center for the Book yesterday. Our collaborative book, Official Mail Art, is on display in the mail/art/book exhibition. Here's 2 photos for you. Unfortunately the book fell over and hides our names. It's under a big acrylic case cover, so I was unable to get the attendant to fix it--oh well. Otherwise the exhibit was beautifully organized--see second photo.
Views from San Francisco Center for the Book's exhibition, "Mail/Art/Book", curated by Jennie Hinchcliff and John Held, Jr.
Jon--just a reminder that our book will become part of Jennie Hinchcliff's archive of mail art. I keep photos of our book on Mypage (above my profile on iuoma) so you can always refer viewers there if need be. The book appears in the published catalog of the exhibition and ours names are listed there separately as participants, as well as on the site http://expostalfacto.wordpress.com
Hi again, Jon--I decided to add an entry to my personal blog with images of our book and its pages. You can refer friends and family to it if you wish.

What was stringy, the grilled cheese or the soup? I don't understand how the soup could be stringy, that meat was marinated for a good many years :p
