Thanks Jon for the Golden Ticket, fun typing movies, and 2 buttons.  I'll need to read all about these movies and then rent some!

Hi Jon--Your wonderful vintage postcard arrived. It's been added to my IUOMA photo stream and will be blogged shortly at

  • Pamela Gerard

Hey Jon--well, I made you a very nice (if i say so myself) Asian-inspired, double-sided postcard and today somewhere between leaving my house and arriving at the post office I lost it....It was all stamped and ready to go so I hope some kind person mails it. Let me know if you get it........

  • Pamela Gerard

Hey Jon -- welcome back! I do hope you get it...but we'll see....that was Tuesday so it should be there soon if at all...

  • Susan McAllister

Gorgeous colors, Jon. I love it.
  • Pamela Gerard

Glad you liked my card -- and yes I got back from an art trip to Seattle and Portland to find your giant collaged card -- great welcome home. many thanks. Maybe whoever found that other card liked it and kept it -- boo on them!

  • Carmela Rizzuto

Jon--The mail art display went well on Saturday. Our collaborative book received lots of kudos. It is being mail out Oct. 21st -today as you read this--to Jennie Hinchcliff for the 'mail/art/book' exhibit. I'll keep you posted.

PS: You can read about Saturday's event here  http://decordisart.blogspot.com/

A spot of Life has graced my postbox. Thanks Jon, always a super-treat receiving something from you.

  • Svenja Wahl

Hi Jon, I've received your card, and blogged it here

    It's wonderful!!

  • Carmela Rizzuto

Jon--this was a comment on the exhibit by K.S. Chambers/IUOMA. I mistakenly deleted it in my blog-sorry. "Wow, Mr. Foster is a mail art fanatic!!! Eight pieces in the one show. A standard for us all to reach for [that bar is mighty high, Jon, I may need a ladder]."
Carmela, Congratulations on the success of the show.

  • taidgh

Thanks a million for your bootcard. I'll post you something shortly. How's NaNoWriMo going for you? I think you should write about socks. Anything about socks is acceptable in my books.

  • Carmela Rizzuto

Jon--you can find out more about the Ex Postal facto Conference at

    http://expostalfacto.wordpress.com/

and you have been listed with me (under 'R') at

    http://expostalfacto.wordpress.com/participating-artists-mailartbook/

for our collaborative book which has been entered into the show, 'mail/art/book'

    It all sounds so impressive.

  • Susan McAllister

Hey Jon. Good to hear from you. I am doing well. Having lots of mail art fun.
  • Keith S. Chambers

What was stringy, the grilled cheese or the soup? I don't understand how the soup could be stringy, that meat was marinated for a good many years :p

  • Carmela Rizzuto

Jon--I sent the invitation card as a courtesy to a fellow exhibitor. I don't expect you to attend, although it would be great if it fit into your plans. I've exhibited in a number of venues in the SF Bay area, but not at SF Center for the Book. So I'm excited about this. I'll be sure to take pictures for both of us.

Hi Jon--your latest 'zines arrived--Sad Jokes Nos. 7 & 8. I'll probably read all 30,000 words if for no other reason than to find out what a talented dude like you thinks about in his spare time. I can now read my husband's mind, so yours will be a new challenge ;-)

I'll get back to you with my thoughts in a month or so...

  • C. Z. Lovecraft

If you send me something, I'll send something back.

    Mail-art rocks!!! CZ

  • Amy Irwen

Jon, just finished your "fugazi" zine...it was hilarious and I Loved the rambling style. Your writing envokes vivid images. So glad to hear you laugh at farts too!!!
  • Raphael'L

  • Richard BAUDET

Hello Jon ! I sent you on  the 12th  Dec , this MA , did you received it ??

Tell me , and may I hope  something from you ?

  • Richard BAUDET

Hi jon ! Look... It seems that the address is not complete, nor right ...Excuse me,

I hope now, the postmen will find you !         Friendly,  Richard.

  • Rebecca Guyver

It's a double tape transfer mail day!  (you and Alicia sent me wonderful work!) I Will be blogging soon here and at the postal ledger.  Thank you!

  • Michalis Kotsaris

    Many thanks Jon!

  • vizma bruns

Thanks Jon! I got your zine today and almost finished it, well, half of it, but decided to save some for another day... is it ok to take the staples out? I can't read the bits near the spine, you must have been pissed when you stapled it. I hope it won't lose it's value, cos I might need money one day and may have to sell it. But really, thanks, love your zines.

  • vizma bruns

Huh, mad?? Oh, no, no, pissed means drunk here!!!

I'm thinking if this is the only one of your zines in Oz, it may well be worth millions. So I'll keep the staples in and flick the pages back and forth at the end of each row. It'll extend the reading experience. (and test my patience!!) ;-)

Jon--I visited the San Francisco Center for the Book yesterday. Our collaborative book, Official Mail Art, is on display in the mail/art/book exhibition. Here's 2 photos for you. Unfortunately the book fell over and hides our names. It's under a big acrylic case cover, so I was unable to get the attendant to fix it--oh well. Otherwise the exhibit was beautifully organized--see second photo.

Views from  San Francisco Center for the Book's exhibition, "Mail/Art/Book", curated by Jennie Hinchcliff and John Held, Jr.

  • Carmela Rizzuto

Jon--just a reminder that our book will become part of Jennie Hinchcliff's archive of mail art. I keep photos of our book on Mypage (above my profile on iuoma) so you can always refer viewers there if need be. The book appears in the published catalog of  the exhibition and ours names are listed there separately as participants, as well as on the site http://expostalfacto.wordpress.com

So our contribution is well documented.

  • Carmela Rizzuto

Hi again, Jon--I decided to add an entry to my personal blog with images of our book and its pages. You can refer friends and family to it if you wish.
