What, you mean you don't have time to read every piece of paper that arrives at the Elgin Mansion? I'll have a (probably skinnier) envelope of ephemera off to you later this month. Love the enveloped batch you sent me, merci beaucoup. It's my hope these holidays will go extremely fast and we wake up to 2014. Oh, and fleas!!! Ugh, that's rough stuff, poor cats and people alike. We lost our Ramsay a month ago and have been very sad; but she was 16 and had a good life. We still have Cookie. And a house full of mail art, all riiiiiight.

I changed the label on Viz's package. They don't really eat Koala. BF

Diane, I'm glad you found it useful. Sex in the IUOMA is a touchy subject not to put too fine a point on it. And these days a man could easily get a reputation if you know what I mean.

  • David Stafford

I wonder....do you think Nadine would like a copy of the Healthways booklet?

  • David Stafford

I'm not going to ask where you get your facts...

  • The Blessed Father

Glad you enjoyed the B.G., they are fun to mail. HAPPY HOLIDAYS. BF

    Happy Holidays Diane,

I sent your holiday MA yesterday. Hope you receive this week.

    Many Blessings,

    Rochleigh

Hi DK. Just want you to know: I'm looking forward to 2014 with you in it.

  • David Stafford

    Diane,

Your holiday gift pak arrived and I must say the kids were pretty darn excited at the prospect of post-Christmas treats. Their fat little cheeks were all a-quiver. Well, what can I say? After opening the package they went into their rooms and I can still hear the tears afallin' even as I type this. Sure, you and I know there's nothing wrong with pre-loved chocolates but Diane, they're just imaginary kids, for Christ's sake. They've lived inside me for like, 63 years and they still feel their temps rising when the scent of a bon bon is nigh. I'm not sure how to proceed here. Perhaps I can mollify them with a finger puppet or a knock on wood thingie....We'll see...In the meantime I finish our friendship owing to the usual reasons.

    Love you, you wacky dame....

  • David Stafford

It's great when the kids are there to help out. BTW, did I tell you my inner child has just surpassed the Guinness record for virtual morbid obesity? We are so proud. Would you mind saying a short prayer for me this morning? It should go something like this: "Dear Lord, please give some work to David today so he can look somewhat busy in his cloistered nook." Thanks in advance. On the way to work (so-called) today I thought of the perfect blues name for you. Diane "Some Assembly Required" Keys....

  • David Stafford

The prayer worked. All my stoplights were green etc. Concerning your inner child....

  • Rochleigh Z. Wholfe

    Happy New Year Diane!

Did you get the MA I sent you? You should have received last week according to PO.

    Best wishes,

    Rochleigh

  • David Stafford

    I'm down with that...

Hi, Diane. Drama of the Day is, at this point, a series of two. Biggie G has the other piece. I may make more if I can find the rubber cement. That's what the background is made of. My art area is always such a mess.

My new year is off to a great start. I hope your's is as well.
  • David Stafford

Roger that...technically does this still qualify as a collaboration? How does the IOUMA Standards Committee come down on this? I see legal wrangling ahead when the cards hit the WalMarts in Beijing and the world explodes in green fountains of moolah. (Cue 1812 Overture Finale).

    Segue to the Courtroom Scene:

L1: MS Keys, you have stated that the humonguosly successful Inner Child Cards were initially your idea. Is that correct?

    DK: Pretty much.

L2: Objection, your honor. Witness is leading the jury or something.

    J: Sustained.

(cue harp music as the scene fades to Dave diving around in a Scrooge McDuck-like cavern of dough)

    (He begins to sing)

  • Rochleigh Z. Wholfe

    Greetings Diane,

It has been a very busy Holiday Season for me and I am just seeing your message. You are welcomed and I am glad you like your card. Wishing you a joyful and productive 2014.

    Best to you,

    Rochleigh

Do you want a rap-type verse?

'Off to the cops/cos we've been shopped/now for the drop/cos we've been dropped

Aint she dire/and what a liar/ put the witch in the fire then let's get higher".

Words by me, music by ???

Hi! The Fake Punk Band might be gigging before a fairly small audience because , well I quote from my Birthday Analysis of 'active' IUOMA' members:

Today's News: Not a good day for the running IUOMA active membership total. Predicted membership dips below 600 for the first time ...to 570 Members. BUT you can save money on postage and birthday cards, because none of the 8 supposed Members with Birthdays are 'active' today -- and many of them haven't been for years.

I suspect though, that this might be 565 more than the Band is used to playing to.

Diane, just wanna say I saw you posted some pictures of my book. I always feel you are working together with me, thanks so much! Love your modeling.

  • Nancy Bell Scott

Hallelujah, then it's for real! A dream is coming true. I'm afraid he won't be into trashpo, he likes glass vases and so on, but he's worthy in every other way. (And his name really is Plato, I swear.)

  • Nancy Bell Scott

Yah, I'm really crushed it won't be a useful household item. His intellectual capacity was a bit difficult to evaluate, I must admit. But he had wonderful long dark hair and flirted with me shamelessly.

  • Nancy Bell Scott

Hmm, what do you think? No trashpo, questionable intellect--will it last?

  • Nancy Bell Scott

Ok, I give up: what's an MMA star? Besides this good guy in my house. Your trashpo lessons are great, and like another guy from antiquing around here who did that stuff all the time and it was unique + wonderful. He doesn't believe in fixing his house, though, so it's falling down around him (really) and soon he'll need to move to his truck. I love "before" pictures, they're by far the best, but if the abode is going back to the earth it's worrisome when someone still lives there. But, then, there's Plato to turn the nightmare into a dream.

  • Nancy Bell Scott

Yah, complex industry is where it's at, what a relief. You're right, a healthy balance. As a libra I try to remember that. The other guy WOULD be perfect for trashpo marriage, but his tall tales drive you crazy inside of 10 minutes.

  • Nancy Bell Scott

Diane, I admired this mandala on your site and am lucky to have it in my hands with its splendid textures! Really wonderful--I Love It. Yah, everything stayed on, both sides. Great asemic-looking thing the N is on. Thank you!

  • Nancy Bell Scott

Watch your mailbox, DK. A snow-laden and warped packet is on its way.

  • Nancy Bell Scott

Go back in the house and start over on Tuesday.

  • Petrolpetal

Thanks for the brilliant 'origami-esque' mail art - love it! I would love to try something similar sometime,if you don't mind.
  • Nancy Bell Scott

You don't want standard mind-altering elements, I know, so what can I bring to your tent to help you through this? Maybe black art, trembling classical piano such as Scarlatti, and/or the glue particles left over after scotch tape is dispensed. Plenty of all here, just say the word, if and when.

  • Nancy Bell Scott

The first one is just way too revealing for my neurotic side, but the second one--love it!!! Of course, for someone with no secrets like you the first one could be paradise.

  • Nancy Bell Scott

Yah, a little vulnerable. Speaking of vulnerable, don't pitch your tent too soon. MLK day, no mail today, methinks the envelope of questionable materials will arrive Wed. at earliest. We can't have DKult die of exposure.

  • Nancy Bell Scott

Aw, look what happened:  It says "Important Customer Information: We regret that your mail...is being returned to you due to heightened security requirements. All mail that bears postage stamps and weighs more than 13 ounces MUST be taken by the customer to a retail service associate at a Post Office." This must be so we won't all become unabombers, thank god I'm saved.

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

DK, are you saying that the ELGIN marbles arrived in ELGIN?

A long way from Athens, safe in your warm heart...take good care of 'em :-)

  • Mercedes "La Marquesa"

Thanks for the invite Diane. Yes I'd love to join.
  • Neil Gordon

Your motivational trashpo made my day!!!!! Thanks for the other collage and fortunes too!!!!

Loved  the "mushy-dew drop" letter~~~~!!!!!   Maybe we need to make- trash talismans= for prosperity in our lives??? Prayers/good-vibes to you and family!!!!

    See Ya in the Mail

    Dew Drop...

  • Cerulean

Diane, your post has landed. Thanks for all the "intriguing" stuff!

  • David Stafford

    your wish, my command...

  • David Stafford

Wow....now I'm depressed too....such is the power of great art...Thank you, Diane...(I woulda left a comment on Youtube ((and I will)) but the Google Gods said no to my password...jesus...who'd a thunk we'd be tripping over our secret passwords on an hourly basis. I'm just too tired to track that particular one down). Anyway...love them dim bulbs. I hope you liked the collection. If you're a blues fan I'm sure you've heard most of that stuff a gazillion times anyway. I guess it really is the "Thought" that counts. I want to make more videos....they're fun....

  • David Stafford

Video is fun but I'm such a shrinking violet that it's been quite difficult to get in front of the camera. I'm taking the Toastermasters Course to overcome my fear of a thousand prying unseen eyeballs. So far it hasn't been all that great but I'm learning a lot about toast.

  • Nancy Bell Scott

NOW the non-bomb envelope is on its way, Diane. I can't remember what's in it and hope at least 1 item is good for you. Covered up the DKult, haha, just in case! The postal guy hand canceled all stamps, boooo, except for a 32-cent-er.

Just realised... I sent you the bike on friday lunch time, I am sure.... the 31st, it took 3!!!!!! days from Gothenburg to Elgin!!!!

  • Carmela Rizzuto

Hi Diane--thanks for being a friend and for your comment about my mail art. I've enjoyed this 'map series'. Here's a scan of the piece that is truer to its color.

  • Nancy Bell Scott

Glad you like, DK, it's all guesswork. Yes, randomness, because who knows what mood you might be in when you open it?

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Homage to Blue Kat has arrived in Greece! Wow! Mucho Thanks!!!
