1952 (when I sent a "Thankyou for my Birthday Present' to my Grandma, and illustrated it with a little drawing). Since then my Mail Art history has been, well, interesting
Did the fork arrive glued to the paper? I hope so...... I had some trouble with it. Soon, I will ask you more about your arty slides......... Have a great day.
Winter is here, however, the snow hasn't been informed yet...thank goodness!!!
I have (3) of my foster dogs with applications...(2) are pending adoption and (1) is in the process...SO HAPPY....they all will be going to great, loving families....
....stay out of the pool....SHARKS!!!!... (just say'n)
Val I am here to get your address for a little something that is going your way and since I am here I like to tell you how lovely was to receive your post, it never finished to fall out of the envelope. Great!
i love the red flamingo, one of yours no doubt and also the Geronimo Stilton's stamps. How did you know I was a fan of the little creature? I have tried to learn italian reading its books with little success and now I am trying again with Montalbano, a police series. Probably not known in France.
Hi Val, thank you for the invite! Actually I dont go to the Naschmarkt very often, because its not so near to where I live. I have another nice market very near by, which I prefer. I have not made it to the flea market in a long time, ... You have been to Vienna?
I was thrilled when I made my way out to the post on Saturday. Thank you for the wonderful arty slide! I now believe, after having a look at your website and the prolific number of them; and holding my own in my hand; that I UNDERSTAND what an arty slide really is! What a nifty idea and unique canvas a 35 mm slide card is! The eclectic themes of the arty slides you posted were fantastic to behold. I love the Popeye series particularly! And the great one that is on the front of the Arty Slide Group you are president of. The only time I ever came in contact with those slide cards was when I took a photography class many moons ago. I love the recyclable idea of an arty slide...... I may see if a photographer friend has some, but in the meantime, if you have an extra few; perhaps you will send some to me at some point please? I also love my new mail art materials. I can not wait to dream up a use for the flag. My eighteen year old niece was here on Saturday and I had fun sharing my mail with her and introducing her to the wonder of IOUMA. Merci, my lovely friend! Happy Thanksgiving to you.
Oh I don't know enough Italian to read a thriller, only kids' comics, like Geronimo. We have a tv series.
I have blogged your great piece of art, and also it is on my bookshelf in the living room, to educate the family and friends. Here it is right in the middle, displayed as I first saw it dropping from the envelope:
The Goodies arrived safely today. I think I owe You like 3-4 kilos of goodies now Val! Thank you so much, great pamphlet from the diamond jubilee, and I am wrestling with the add and passes (I am crap on things like that but like them a lot anyway ) My son grabbed the "baby/cute bear card" immediately to have in his wallet so that one is already gone!
My cup runneth over! Thank you so much for all of the mail you have sent as of late. I will now attempt my first add and pass and will (excitedly) become a member of the Arty Slides group. Thank you for the slides. I also love the art you sent. Orange is such a happy color. You have made my week! XOXO, C.
Ooh, I must say I'm quite flattered to have namesake art. Took me a while to find it amongst the pics but I finally did and I likey, very much!!! Thanks u :P
Hi Val thank you for sending Paper Visma, may be you could also send one of you? If you are in time to post them together I mean, any old thing will do, ahemmm.... (sorry)
Lovey landing card, but you didn't put my age, all of 120 years! At the moment I feel more like 300. I have hurt my leg, apparently in one of my flurries of housecleaning. It is a rare injury sprinters only get. I cannot walk and have to use a stick. The physioterapist says I will be ok soon. Oh, puree!
oh Val! And I was here feeling sorry for myself. yes I am a bit better but it will be a long haul I suspect, still using a stick is quite fun and the irish physiotherapist too. Sorry about your foot, i hope it doesn't take long for you to be able to hobble around, I am thinking of your many stairs, poor thing.
Vizma has arrived and also your landing card, which is in the blog as well as the beer mat. Thank you very much for all of it. I am behind with everything sorry for the delay.
Hello Val, what a relief that the second 'Don't Panic boekje' arrived in Sigean. That was my last picture of corporal Jones. Also very nice to read you are giving your foot and inner person some attention. I visited a bookbinders fair and saw the goose feather and a lot of ideas for making things. Cheers.
Hi Val, I hope your foot is getting better and are enjoying a happy holiday despite of it. My leg is improving but still it is a nuisance. I am very behind with my blog and responding to friends. Let’s hope for a healthier 2013!
Your little piggies were altered early in December? Yikes__2 operations!
For me Dear Foot was remodeled in several places in one morning operation: a traditional bunion off, a titanium plate and 1 screw bridging the base of Big Toe's joint, straightening Littlest Piggy with a 3 or 4" pin which comes out 9 January. And removal of, hey, get this, a "bunionette."
Going in, the hospital folks enjoyed my clown nose on Big Toe. I had to explain that no, I didn't kill Rudoph for it, or did I?
That was 3 December. When was yours and was all that done in one "sitting?"
Dear Foot is galloping forward in healing. It was the pain pills that made me very, very ill, a couple of weeks to recover from that part.
How many stirs do you have? I have 2 flights, 1 to the street and the mail, the kitchen & sitting room in the middle where I am now, and and the other one goes up to the rest.
Thank goodness you are not dealing with the U.S.Nuttery Health care idiocy.
Oh, your hospital was amiss about your potato, or at least a tomatoe to go home with.
They are in a cottage in the grounds of Chartwell that Winston built for his daughter. It is a miniature one and has a range inside. Aparently the little girl used to cook buiscuits for Winnie's visitors. One wonders...
I hope your foot is getting better, I have been wondering how you manage with all those stairs, I found mine difficult enough.
I haven't able to do much mailings with leg stiff ( it is much better now)but soon I hope to catch up and will be sending you something. Your great pieces are displayed in the living room. This was a great idea I had, I love to see all the mail art while having tea.
My thoughts wil be with you on the 4th of February, all the best!
Thank you for the mail art! Shall we hobble to the restaurant or take a cab??? It sounds delicious! I also loved the potato nose on the foot thst you pointed out. Less than two more weeks with the cast on for me and then a walking boot for a few more. Even though everyone tells me it is freezing, I would love to be outside walking around. Soon I hope. How have you been?
Hi Val-- Your entry for the exhibition in October was picked up today. Thanks you for sending it.Like how you create mail art from re-cycling. your sculptures are amazing, too.
I am working on a postcard for your exhibition. I hope you are recovered from the op and fit and ready for the next and last one. Just think, luckily we are not quadrupeds.
My leg has recovered completely but of course it was only muscle damage, physiotherapy did the trick pretty quickly
You are soooo clever. I love my Irish jig dancing post card! I still have this enormous crazy boot on my foot, but believe I will be released from it tomorrow. We might have four "better" feet between us soon. All the best!
Dearest Val, all those things are going to happen to you together? Well perhaps it is for the best and be done with it. I am sure you will be ready to skip along with the newborn lambs this spring. All the best of British luck, pal!
Hi Val, I dont know when i can go to England to find Penny Black. Do you think it possible to buy this stamp not so expensive? (about 10-20$) - possible? Best wishes. :)-KK---{
