Thanks for birthday wishes Nance! I was away in Johannesburg for a few days, my nephew got married - our first Magwood family wedding. It was so good to be with all my sisters, children and nephews and nieces, I was spoilt rotten by them on my birthday. Today is the BIG day, Frase comes home for good after 4  and half months so hold thumbs it all goes well. X

Nancy, your wonderful card arrived yesterday, what a marvelous beauty! And the old pages with animals, I just love them. We spent a weekend in London last week and went to the Natural History Museum, - so impressing animals (my favorite: the giant sloth) there. Thank you so much! (Many thanks!!) xxx

Hey Nancy - Just looked at your contribution to the latest Vispo collab. book - I quite adore your work ma cher, it's... [I'm at a loss for apropos words for my feeling here...] truly gorgeous... The words don't cut it regarding your spectacular work, but know that you indeed have a fan! [I do hope we can trade sometime...]

There's a lot of great art out there, but a lot that's often a bit indistinct/derivative [including mine sometimes...]I don't think that's a bad thing, loving and paying homage to the history of creativity... Nonetheless, yours often has a voice of its own that is sonorous indeed...Your vision is very powerful!

I empathize about being behind - I have a copious list also - indeed! But you're on there... %_^

It's true. She was my inspiration and guidepost. AND a character of the first order. My childhood was spent in embassassment of her antics. I was so white bread and she was so nutty. For a snack for Brownies she provided V-8 Juice and pork rinds. To a bunch of snotty rich kids who expected hostess cupcakes (or designer nosh). She was not trying to make a point, just thought it would be 'different'.Not exactly David Sedaris type Mom, but kinda'. Except she was a Quaker.

Ah yes, fabulous life of a silent actress. I am invisible on the set so I hear the weirdest, most inappropriate comments. 

I did drive to Maine, alone with my dog in a Ford Falcon Station Wagon. Along the way I bought a tiny skeleton in a coffin at a Nebraska junk store. 

Not sure why e-mails and messages aren't arriving. Will check it out. Maybe NING changed the default settings for members? I am not sure. In your settings (each member has them) you can check too.

Nancy, I'm having really strange computer glitch problems at IUOMA right now, yes. I don't seem to be getting messages at all.

Strange thing - people outside IUOMA (when I was out and about today) were complaining about computer & phone problems. Maybe the world is ending or something. Back up your files!

No, no, not trying to incite panic. But people are having internet problems outside IUOMA, at least here in Auburn, not far the metropolic of Seneca Falls.

It was one of those finds I couldn't pass up no matter how inappropriate or twisted. I hauled it around for years, creeping people out, loosing friends no doubt but finally sold it to some photographer who did who knows what with it. Didn't make any money off it.

Did your dog ride with someone else?

that's funny. the same happened last week. DK sent a message that both Nadine and my MA arrived together. Glad you like it. reworked a few pieces from the 80's. Ahh, seems like yesterday. ;-)

It's true they are of my mind. But I see them everywhere, or people like them. Never in Reno. You had a basement school? My daughter had one too! She made me ship a very heavy school desk to her in LA and she's 32. Did you go to Bard? I knew some folks (young) who went there. My Mom went to Sarah Lawrence (b/f it let in boys.
