Funny thing, I was just listening to some music from Burkina Faso. It was from the Electra Nonesuch series. No Elvis in there, though.

Valentine, I am glad to hear that you received the Valentine and Elvis Barbie collage card and like them.  Say Hello to Elvis for me, and maybe do the same for Jim Morrison of the Doors.  There are rumors that Morrison faked his death and has been hiding out in Paris all these years. 

Of course, Barbie is still alive.  She will never die!

Will all of you be watching Whitney Houston's funeral on Saturday (February 18)?  I hear that it will be televised on the Internet.  I don't plan on seeing the whole thing, but may catch the highlights of it later on.  I think that if anything exciting happens, we will see it on YouTube.

Valentine - Received your collage card today - Thank You!  I notice that part of the collage says "Hommage aux Beatles".  My children will love seeing that!  My daughter will be 21 in May, and my son is 11.  Oddly enough, they love The Beatles and hate today's music.  When my son had a haircut last week, he complained that it made him look like Eminem!  Some of the boys in my son's class are into Eminem, but my son does not care for him.

Last week,  I made a card for a girl who loves rap music.  Unfortunately, I could not find any pictures of rappers to put on the card, so I improvised with what I had and came up with the "Rap Yourself" card.  Another IUOMA member is sending me some rap pictures out of his collage stash.  Is there anything you would like for a collage but have not been able to find?  I may not have any rappers, but I do have lots of other goodies.  Let me know what you want, and I will get it in the mail to you. - Gail

Got your cute accordian/guitar player mailart yesterday!  I very rarely go with the view of the crowd and constantly pick the oddballs...I would've taken the accordian player without a doubt <3

Sure, I would love to exchange musically-themed mail art.  And I seldom have to say anything to my son about his hair, in my opinion, he is pretty good about keeping it neat.  But his Grandparents don't agree with me.  They often complain about my son's hair and my daughter's clothes.  And then they wonder why we hardly ever see them!  Fortunately, they live in California (about 1,500 miles away from me).

We are in the beginning of the spring, but we have still lot of snow and a thick ice on the lakes... people are driving with the cars across the lakes to their summer houses..

Next time (if there will be!) you visit Finland, perhaps august would be better.... :)

Don't be silly, I wasn't 'smashed outta me 'ead!' Not even close. I wouldn't want to overdo it and feel ill all weekend! I must be growing up a bit!! ? Thanks for the wishes. I'll try to rustle up a fat envelope for you...can it be bits of gift wrapping and ribbon?
