Bianca, Trouble and I would all like to thank you for the 'Pagans love Ern' card that you sent. I share your sentiment (although I'm not sure that I'm a pagan -- more a Pagannini), but Bianca and Trouble would like me to point out to you that, in their own wordd', 'Cats love food -- lots of it at lots of times every day'.
When I'm not busy pandering to their dietary needs, I'll send you something back very soon.
Hi Diane! I am so happy you received the Trashpo book. That was a lot of fun to create and I was happy to share it with you. Glad to be IUOMA friends and sending more things in the mail. Take care and see you in the mail soon.
Post Office mystery #5000. I've sent things and had them returned the next day without cancellation, no explaination. I've had whole stacks of bills never arriving and had late fees, I've had things mailed from the desert to Elgin (my husband's parents live there!) from a post office that looks like a shanty town dump that makes it by Monday when mailed on Saturday.
In LA when I verify postage on heavy or international mail I get so many prices and I weigh and look up each dutifully prior. I've stopped questioning the workers. Some like my stuff others look totally annoyed at it. YEESH! It's expensive when they do this.
I'm sticking to the shack postal office in the desert. The postal women is really nice. LA sucks.
Ryosuke's Brain Cell: How does he do it? He uses a GOCCO silk screen printer. The GOCCO prints a 4 x 6 inch area in multiple colors. Each edition has at least 6 different screening printing. He sometimes shrinks or enlarges the images people send him to fit on the screen. If someone sends him a rubber stamp he makes a single impressions to add to the screen. He adds any stickers during the printing, sometimes before and sometimes after the silk screen printing. He prints 150 of each edition so if someone sends stickers, they need to send him 150. If they send less, he makes a note next to their name on the documentation page. For example, if they send him 100, the note will say: 100/150.
Eureka! It arrived. How shall I put this....what a terrific piece! I love the idea of using a check book cover for the Monkeys as well as the strangest catalog of conspiracy junkets. I pulled it out and who do I see but Neil Gordon's address. Did you look at some of this stuff?? I just love the threading. Of course you know I dig the photos. Yesterday I went to the flea market and got a bunch more. Hidious 50's Christmas and horrible 70's weddings. Thanks you so much for all the effort in doing it and getting it here!
I usually send him a black and white image no bigger than 2 inches by 3 inches.. Sometimes I send 150 stickers. He prefers images because stickers take more time to add to the Brain Cell.
Hi Diane! I would looooove to do a collaborative book with someone (anyone). Can somebody send me one? Can I begin one and send it to somebody? Problem: I really, really am not good on computer and rely on snail mail for most things. Thanks
Or I could send you one! In fact, if I can find your address, I'll send you an already-started one. Could you send it to others? Will it ever return? This should be fun!!! : )
A vivid dream I just told Angie: It's funny, I had an IUOMA-related dream last night too, only Diane was in it, and more importantly (sorry Diane), Neil Young. Diane and trashpo were being praised to the skies at some gathering as historic. Then Neil Young showed up and for some reason I felt free to walk up to him and say "Didn't you and I have a long talk recently?" He said "No, I don't think so," and we both sat down at sort of a diner counter for lunch. He ignored me through the entire lunch, I was afraid to speak, and when finished he got up and walked away without saying anything. It was embarrassing. I really did think we'd had a conversation recently, and it was trashpo-related. But it got me nowhere with Neil.
