Oh, Nancy--Thank you, thank you for the mail art! It's luminous, like stained glass.... I really appreciate your sending it, and I know I will love looking at it.
Thanks. Bought me 2 older CD’s of Branco last week (Abril / Kronos) for half price. She has a new one (Fado and Tango). The trick is to wait a year and then the price collapses, the CD market is as silly as the DVD one. Be patient, wait and you get what you want for a bargain. Started 2 new large paintings yesterday. One with the help of my cat who continued working on it when I was asleep. Woke up by the noise. He had kicked a glass of water on the painting. He had trouble understanding why I was not happy.. I am doing what you do, I could read in his eyes. He’s right of course!
Dear Nancy, I'm late, I hope it is still your birthday and I'm wishing you all the best! Happy birthday - it's great to have you and your wonderful work here on IUOMA! Svenja
Dear Nancy, happy birthday to you! All the best to you, yes I made a second one don´t know what I will do with it. The ironing? I´ll send you something about it.. Greets Frieder
No, Tarantino acted on a new work in progress but it’s funny you mention The secret(s) of hurricanes because that was the first work on which ‘he acted’. When I scanned fragments he recognized it and wanted to jump on the scanner but I stopped him. The first stages of those bigger paintings I always make outside, in between the garden and the kitchen. Normally cats are not keen on water but Tarantino is 2 curious and when he likes a work he joins in by jumping on the paper and walking on it. The real problem is afterwards when he walks in the kitchen again. Tiny little feet in ink everywhere!
Happy B-DAY by the way. About Yo-Yo Ma: do you know his Silk Road record, stunning as well!
Nancy, glad it arrived and you like it! (I knew you couldn't probably read the article, but I thought the photos tell the most about Wehrli? But I'll sending the translation, 3-4 years ...)
It's not trashpo because it's not actually made from trash. I started with a completely clean white piece of paper. I really should have lied about the whole thing, but my conscience would have gotten the better of me. Please don't lose the faith
Nancy! Your book arrived! It's beautiful! I don't think there is an ounce of trash in it, only treasures. So much to see in there. As D. Stafford would say, wondrous!! Thank you so very much!!
Thanks Nancy. I don't know the rules for them either, so I'm sure whatever you did is just perfect. When Thom writes the Trashpo Manifesto, it should say there are no rules in Trashpo and even less for Trashpo Add & Pass. Hope you are doing well.
I keep looking at it and looking at it, I love it so much! I will take photos and email them to you if you like, as you don't have a record of it and it NEEDS to be documented I think. Send me your email if not on your profile page (I will check for it) I wont blog all the pages as there is so much, but will send each page to you. Look after yourself dear girl!
Nancy, just when I wished for more Nancy-art in the morning I found your wonderful new piece in the mailbox! Thank you so much, I love it - it is spooky and will NOT be kept in the bedroom/mailartroom, I' m not mad!!! And your envelope is wonderful too, will post soon, - and I'm working on something for you. Your friend Svenja
Yep! You got it Nancy. It contains Nada, Nix, ZALOP! Thanks for letting me know it arrived. Personally, I have opened envelopes that were not to be opened, so it's always good to ask. Of course some people may fill them with stuff. I think they should be empty though.
Yes, right up my alley. I just had a look though your photos. You do very nice work, and I hope you do not mind getting my wacky stuff. But you ave given me some ideas ... is that yard that I see?
Last time Deutsche Telekom managed to keep us offline for more than two month, - but noooooo this time it will only be a week (I so hope so) ;-) Will really miss the daily IUOMA-portion!!
Silly Me, the word should have been Yarn. One of your works gave me an idea to do something with yarn. And that one has your name on it, when I finish it. Which could be awhile as I am busy preparing for 3 "formal" Halloween dinners this weekend. 1st of November is a public Holiday here; (All Saints Day). Since 1st of November falls on a Tuesday, many people have off the Monday 31th. (Because it’s just not worth going to work for just one day, and besides that makes a four day weekend.) Daylight comes and I wanta go home. PS Nice Family photo, can I use it in one of my MA?
It's kind of preserved in packingtape! If you open some how after a 'truly catesian quarter of an hour" ,You'll find its made out of a lunch bag- Sorry! -didn't mean to drive ya nuts!
Nancy, last week I wasn't myself, in a hurry etc. - I'm just unwrapping my favorite mail arts and reviewed your envelope - and there: an extra surprise!! I just found the wonderful, wunderbar paper - do I understand it right that you made it yourself? It is unbelievable cute and magic and I love it!!! Thank you for this gift! (Back online on a slow line, but I take what I get!!) Best wishes to you, do you say "Happy Hallowe'en"??
(PS: Won't you join us in Zalop City? There are still letters left and I would love to see your work on Cheryls project!)
You're right and that's why I've hired an impartial cross-section of the public to look deeply into my eyes. After prolonged exposure most remained cross. I have a few tricks left however. Thanks again for putting me on the straight and narrow.
Nancy, you are so wonderful. Your fat (and phat) enveloped arrived at just the right time. I was getting very low on materials and then your mail appeared! love everything in it-everything thank you!
Nancy, you know that you are under a lot of pressure - when you found your own mail you've sent yesterday in your mailbox!! Just went out of the house yesterday, turned around and put four letters into MY mailbox - and was happy that I've sent you something - unbelievable, you should have seen my face this morning!! Sent it "again" today...
Nancy, I didn't now that! In Germany, the mailman would have to have VERY thin fingers to get to the outgoing mail, we don't have this mailboxes to open up at the side ... Ahhhh, a bit of the beach sounds like heaven!
ooooooo!!! I'm EXCITIED!!! Yip, definitely has the built-in WOW factor :-)! Nope, looks like DeskTop aint making it to them thar hills - will resend - or send - whichever - spring is sprung aiding in my general confusion :-)))XX
Nancy, as usual you are waaaay too kind :-)) but thank you, your words are so sweet. I really think that it can never match your maybe-non-trashbook. So I was a bit desperate there. I think I just wrote the same kind of message to Lesley :-)) I want to try to do always better!! Thank you dearly (and please no pressure about blogging).
NANCY! Got your incredible book cover today! Luv it, can't post it so ill describe it to all your fans:Book Cover, 1933 edition of the Winston simplified dictionary, from the Westport library, cost a whopping 90 cents in 1933! Wonderful hand written message in white ink on cover! I love the Carmen Miranda and the old stamps. "BPCE"=Best Postcard Ever! Thanks. It was faster then inter library loan!

Hi Nancy,
Here is an English page on Wikepedia on Slauerhoff
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J._Slauerhoff
The China novel is «Life on earth» (they don’t mention the content)
I am drowning in music from Brasil and Ireland right now and loving it

Wished I had assistents. But I don't.
Yes, saw and loved the collage on the backside. Also saw it already published on your blog at IUOMA page.
The envelope to you stays a surprise. Included are some cards for you to pass on...
