I knew with my gut feeling that it might have been Valentine Mark Herman in those frames! Then again...it could be Richard Dryfus? Great composition, Jon, I really like this piece of mail art that you sent. Many thanks!

    Hey Jon-

I know, postal strikes totally suck. However, it's a rolling strike, so it hits different parts of the country at different times. Right now it's in my hometown of Winnipeg, and then it'll randomly appear at other locations. So your stuff might not be as in limbo as you imagine. Unless you were in Winnipeg!

Bonsoir Jon and thanks for the Canadian card. 35 hours sounds an awfully long time to drive. I'm not sure it would even take 35 hours to drive from one end of Europe to the other -- but I ain't going to try it! Something will be in the post for you later this week.

    Regards, Fin de Circle

  • DKeys

so glad it got to you Jon. I love using the boxes because I always have them on hand, that and cardboard, and I can call it an environmental statement as well!

  • rebecca resinski

Postcard received, Jon--thanks so much & have a great weekend!
  • Valentine Mark Herman

Hi Jon! I got your latest card this morning -- and, for which many thanks indeed -- but this time I'm NOT going to send you one in return.

Not because I'm breaking off our exchange (I wouldn't do that!), but because I want to send you something in China. When you get settled, can you IUOMA mail me your address, and I'll send you something in a plain envelope (so that it doesn't upset the authorities) , and then it will be back to business as usual?

Have a safe journey to the other side of the world!

    Regards Val

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Thank you, Jon, for the red lobster card! Cool in Canada? And now you are traveling to China? Let us know a mailing address there! Many thanks xx
  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Thank you, Jon, for the great postcard from Tsinghua University in China! Wow! the script is a work of art by itself...to me it is "asemic". Have a nice trip home from China!

  • Valentine Mark Herman

Bonjour Jon! Thanks for your card from China. I'd send you something back in return, BUT I don't have your address in Chinatown. Want to send it to me? Hope you are doing OK. Bestest, le Tour de Val
  • Valentine Mark Herman

Thanks Jon! That was quick...it seems like you were only going to China yesterday, but now you're already back in the US of A. Hope you enjoyed your Chinese adventure. I'll be mailing you something in the next few days -- when I get organised. Best wishes, le Tour de Val (who very nearly got arrested today by a gendarme for 'liberating' a genuine Tour de France sign).
  • Valentine Mark Herman

Excuse me for sending you the same message 3 times: machine problems!
  • Amy Irwen

Jon, received your Fantastic Collage PostCard today...thank you!....Amy
  • Amy Irwen

    Hi Jon...happy face! Amy
  • Valentine Mark Herman

Welcome back, if not to the civilised world of the US of A, then to IUOMA. And THANKS for the american-sino card: you look a lot different now, but better or worse I cannot say. (Since you didn't ask, I am as tall, dark and handsome as ever).

I'll be mailing you something back soooooon; Bon weekend, Regards, JE Sweefoo

  • Valentine Mark Herman

Bonjour! Well, I was the 'ambassador/mentor' but they change every month, and I think that Katerina N has the job now. Hope to hear from your friend eventually. Regards, JE Sweefoo

Glad the "wood cuts" arrived, Jon. They are from some wood block printing I was doing ;-) Thanks for the blog! And I shall go to welcome your friends!
  • Svenja Wahl

Dear Jon, I received you cute postcard today, what a surprise! I love the hidden parts, that I can see not everything in it. And the bowel of the fish where you can see the women, I wonder how you did that, is the fish transparent? Thanks a lot, I'll send something soon! Svenja
  • Yvonne Neldel

Dear Jon, thank you for the nice and interesting postcard! When i was studying the fotos/collage it somehow  reminded me of the family pictures of my parents. My grandparents looked like the persons on the photos. Thanx for giving me that special moment!

    Yvonne.

  • Svenja Wahl

What a wonderful idea, I have to try it myself! Thanks!

Your horsey-bitey photo gives me the heebeejeebees!  It should be titled "Secretariat's Revenge."  Must have a good story to go with it.
  • Jen Staggs

Owie.  Nice of someone to capture the image of your pain.  Hope school is going well for you and none of your students bite like banana-seeking wild Hawaiian ponies.
  • Amy Irwen

glad you liked the ATC's Jon...sometimes it's hard for me to work that small also...I like alot of dimension and sometimes it just doesn't come across like I want on a small piece...I'm using alot of my nature stash that I dried from last spring...take care...Amy

  • Jim SantAmour

WoW-that was quick...I popped in in the mail Friday after work! Enjoy.

The photo was taken at Duke University (I lived in Raliegh for a few years before moving to St. Petersburg). -Jim.

bonjour jon! thanks yet again for another great card...again. this time of mick and john l's specs; i used to wear wire-rimmed glasses like john l. the ones i wore when I was about 13 were uk national health service glasses that were free to anyone who needed glasses and couldn't afford to pay for 'posh' frames. they were definitely uncool at the time. about 9 years later john l had made them very cool, but i wasn't eligible for national health glasses then, and so spend what at the time was a relative lot of money to get...some nhs-type specs! i still have them in a drawer in my desk. enough opthalmic history...something will be sent back to you soon. regards, val
  • Nancy Bell Scott

More than glad to be your friend, Jon. Happy one-year IUOMA anniversary tomorrow ~ I'm really pleased that you like the card, thanks for what you said.
  • BarnArt

Happy IUOMA Mail Art Anniversary Jon! Will be sending you something very soon to commemorate this occasion. Much love-
  • Cernjul Viviana María

    wonderful. Congratulations!
  • Valentine Mark Herman

Thanks Jon! The numbers I quoted yesterday for items sent and received where only for this year. I have no idea how many I sent/received from 14/09/2010 to 31/12/2010. If you've sent me 28, I must have sent you back about the same number -- the latest got posted just an hour ago. When you've sent me 50 do I get any sort of free IUOMA gift or special offer?

I'm currently writing a Catalogue of my Envelopes, and ahven't got time (or patience) to work out what i sent to whom and/or what i received from whom: what a sentence!

    Regards, Moby
