Smiles & Smirks

Art with a measure of humour is required by Walmarth Corporation for its chain of supermarkets, located in the Queendom of Retailia and in Cascadia Artpost. Through this collaboration Cascadia Artpost and Mail Art Martha are continuing to give impulse to Trashpo, the artistic vision of Diane Keys.

‘Walmarth Corporation is an entertaining and witty parody of corporate, consumer culture. Cascadia Artpost’s painstaking realization of Mail Art Martha’s ideas through detailed, special effects style models makes Walmarth Corporation one of the crowning achievements of Trashpo in the half-decade that it has been producing a large quantity of art.’

In addition to Trashpo the Corporation has now expanded to include political satire, parody, comics, caricature and witty playfulness.
Your contribution is needed to fill the shelves.

  • Mail Art Martha

Thank you! I had a bunny and the mask did  not save it from being chomped to bits!

I picked up my mail on Friday, October 29th, and there was a Lucky 13 issue of the Foldilope awaiting me. There were Halloween greetings and a little book of autumn haiku inside.

I love the kitty in the middle. Thanks, Martha!

The latest edition of the Foldi series (#14) has arrived, along with an "Asemic Postage Trashpo" card, and an illustrated poem. There was also a letter (that I didn't scan). More treats, more fun ... thank you, Martha!

Aw, smiles to Ali Khat, the Lap Tiger!

  • Mail Art Martha

She who opens tins takes a breather in the park, good to see. Thank you Katerina for posting.

  • DKeys

Love lap tiger! I have a heat vent Panther in my house

    Happy almost March all!

  • Mail Art Martha

Thank you Diane! And happy meteorological Spring to you!

I do not know what that means but it arrived here accompanied by rain. March 21 is the one to which I am used.

I googled it, none the wiser. Actually more confused as there is also astrological Spring. May be also artlogical?

  • Mail Art Martha

Meteorological spring was on March 1st, I am told. Anybody can suggest a suitable date for artlogical spring?

  • Alan Brignull

Meteorological spring begins on 1st March only in the northern hemisphere. Since mailart is worldwide, I propose Artillogical Spring begins halfway between March and September, i.e. 1st June.

  • DKeys

Happy Art Spring then! When I see my flowers poking through the hard frozen ground and snow I celebrate. Chicago winters are no fun at all. Now we are in the big thaw so maybe mud pie making with the piglets is in order.

  • Mail Art Martha

Saddlebacks! are they yours Diana? in Chicago? I had not seen any for a long time, to tell the truth i have not seen any real pigs for ages, human ones yes, all in positions of power.

Alan, I gladly go along with the dates but I think the word Arti is pejorative,  I propose Art instead, therefore Artlogical, but I cannot decide. Too much brain effort.

Hmmm... I rather like Artilogical, it has a singsongie rythm.

  • Sabrina S

Almost spilled my breakfast on the table, Martha. Haha!

  • Alan Brignull

    How about  'Art-illogical' then, Martha?

  • Mail Art Martha

Alan! That would be better, you must have read my Marthafesto!

  • Mail Art Martha

Sabrina, sorry, but a smile in your face is worth a hundred breakfasts spilled. As Catfusious said.

  • DKeys

That is what they are called? So perfect ! but no, they are not mine but are at a local organic farm. Elgin lets people have chickens and bees. During the stay at home era, lots of people got chickens.

So was snow in the artillogical forecast?Because it snowed  today which means it is a good day to make art or snow angels?

  • Mail Art Martha

  • DKeys

    Love that Martha!

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)
