Hello Bill,

To my experience there are no rules nor any guidelines at all. Sometimes the one who started an A&P writes on the sheet ‘when full, return to .... (his or her address)’, and many times no such thing is written, so it remains a question where the sheet will end.

Speaking for myself, I’ve had an ‘add and return’ project (in which I sent out art on postcard size) of which it was clear that the receiver was asked to return after adding to it (see my group ‘what or whom is she staring at?’). Other mail art I’ve sent out ‘in the wild’, and as there are no rules, all options the sender would choose, were and are okay to me.

Generally I think it polite to return a piece when the sender asks for it, and if a piece of mail art lands in someone’s home for good, I think that is all in the mail art game. If I’d like to keep something which I am supposed to forward, I’d scan it, keep the copy, and still forward the original. 

I’m looking forward to reading the others’ thoughts!

By the way, I recently designed this stamp. I haven’t used it yet, but it might hand some clue to the recipient :-)

Please take me off the mail to list. 1 to 3 pieces every day with multiples inside and a duplicates like crazy. I can't keep up.

I think it would be a good rule to only put one add and pass in a mailing.  I am not fond of getting bundles either.  One at a time is plenty.

I have never come very close to "ADD & PASS", but I begin to think that it is really suitable to represent the originality of Mail Art.

I'm sorry but I need to pull out of the Add and Pass group.  I have a huge stack of mail that needs attending and I can't keep up.  I owe so many people art right now it is crazy...

I work slowly and like to draw.  I have a stack of stuff to go through, make art for and mail.  I still opt out. Thanks.

Hi Jennifer! I use a couple of apps on my iPhone. I start by scanning the piece(s) using an app called TINY SCANNER.  I like scanning vs. taking a photo. Then I use a photo editor - ENLIGHT (free version). I use the app to adjust the color, if needed, and then I use the collage feature to put the images together. After I save the image I airdrop it to my MAC computer so I can post it online.  It sounds involved, but it’s not too bad. 

I have some add and pass to send out. Would anyone like some?

Got a whole bunch of Add and Pass envelopes yesterday!! Kept me quite busy tonight, adding goodness to these.

Total Newbie here...Just joined IUOMA and I got an Add and Pass from Shirley Gergel and not sure who I'm suppose to pass it along to???? Any guidelines or list of folks I should send to?

Thomas, and anyone else who gets anything from Gergel (Shirley or any other name) if it's got a return to on it as Steven High and/or the Ringling Museum in Florida, those should not be returned there. For awhile Mr. Gergel was harassing this person. It's been awhile, but he could still be doing it.
