Not lonely, full of artists in their own endeavors. I have just sent a few cards out, we have a little bit of snow, Washington, DC can't handle any snow the cars slide all over and it is awful. I hope you are warm and doing your mail art.
:) It was just a feeling. I know this place is full of nice people. And, yes! I'm warm and doing my mail art. Outside is cold. But nothing compared with Washington. It doesn't even snow here, at my town, during the winter. And in fact, I have never seen the snow.
(And all of a sudden I think about the poetry of that missing view...)
oh wow!!! My favorite so far....could you email this one to me if I give you my personal email? I would love to have it for an artistic reference photo...
So Eduardo wants to see SNOW! A rare item in Greece, but yesterday we had SNOW...briefly, it melted today. Magnificent photos, Rod! And the "Burning bushes" takes the GOLD!
Cloudy where I am, we just had sleet and expect possible freezing rain and flurries tonight and tomorrow. I am sipping Mango and Passionfruit tea, Nice and warm and tasty.
Liz has bought a juicer! We started this pale grey day with a melon, lemon, apple and grape drink, yesterday it was apple, carrot, beetroot and celery. I was just about half way through the glass when the doorbell burped and a young bloke with braces on his teeth delivered two dry-root cherry trees for Liz's allotment garden.
I'm listening to Amiina's new CD 'Puzzle' that Saevi sent and which arrived yesterday.
Last night, my recently formed street art collective, went out to the streets. We spreaded some pieces through my city, and it was fantastic. We were almost caught by the cops, around three times. But it was a success after all. :D
This first project was a head, mocking Hitler, in the Hello Kitty's logo style, but with the face of Hitler instead, and saying Hello Killer. HHAHAH!
The poem is a metaphor for the situation we're living, in my city. People are lazy, and no one seems to have interest in art, or other rich things for the mind. Only a few people I know are involved in art. The city's galleries don't promote that much the local artists. And everything is made with a certain elitism, which sickens me.
The young people just care about drugs, alcool, and futile things. It's a sad situation. And people look indifferent to that... Like ghosts in the walls of a coffin.
It's your birthday, Judy, and IUOMA doesn't inform us of these very important things???? Well, if there's a bit of cake left :-) Shall we wait for Judy to finish at work before we start the celebration, music, dancing? OPA!
Cavellini! Wow...joining us at the Cafe, thanks Eduardo. I am stopping by for a cup of tea, ot maybe a hot chocolate to ward off this flu bug! Looks like Judy had a fun Happy, Happy!
Sorry for the flu Kate, but it's a good excuse to be extra kind to yourself.
My archive has a large ammount of Cavellini... he was .... generous.... he even appears in 'Mail Art Dada Skank' on my page although... apperently... he wasn't to pleased with the verse we made about him;~)
Hi gang, I had a great time and now I am getting ready to move from North West DC to South West DC, no weather change but I am now but the Washington Monument and will be by the US Capitol, prices just went up to high here. New address as of Feb. 7th
The move takes place Feb 7th and ends Feb 14th. I will be schleping stuff the first week then the guys with a truck come the second week, then I have to find where I put all my stuff. No way do I want to be near the White House much less in it, all those protesters are a pain.
On Friday and Saturday I watched the first three games of the 6 nations rugby tounament, last night I watched the first ten minutes of the American Super Bowl.

Snow is like fairy dust coming down, pretty and white, cold, gray skies, omnious dangers and a lot of car wrecks.

I exiled poetry from Babel's rubble
I embraced the marble as a way of life
