For those of you who submitted your cards to the VSArts show called Disability it is now at the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in the entrance of the Hall of States, Washington, DC, all 1,200 pieces are hooked together from suspensions and look great.
My husband and I may do a movie on the 4th. I'm more psyched for the 21st. the B-52's are coming to my tiny town to do an outdoor show!
Love Shack! Did I mention I love IUOMA?
July 4th, plentiful cherries and blueberries in all the stores, big sales too. I am going to walk out of my building and across the street where I can see the Washington Monument and watch the fireworks, last years photos came out awful for me.
Can I have a sandwich without sand... or ash... please and a green tea with honey would be nice, and some cake from Kate's larder to follow... how come humans don't melt in these summers? Baaaaah... too much wool, lanoline's a crime.
4:20AM. Can't sleep. Too manic. The 4th is over. I worked on 11 pieces yesterday. I'm going to have coffee and start creating again. Good day to you my little art buddies!
DON'T GET ME WRONG
IF I'M LOOKING KIND OF DAZZLED
I SEE NEON LIGHTS WHENEVER YOU WALK BY
DON'T GET ME WRONG
IF YOU SAY "HELLO" AND I TAKE A RIDE
UPON A SEA WHERE THE MYSTIC MOON
IS PLAYING HAVOC WITH THE TIDE
DON'T GET ME WRONG ..........
Vacation ha! I'm working flat out! My wonderful time in Iceland is now just a fond memory... yesterday I finished putting together the CD with 125 of the best of this years crop of Iceland photos, Kate your copy of the CD was dropped in the post box today.
Great studio space, rod, me is waiting for that CD! Yeah! Thanks a lot.
And about that Space mail art call: 35 X 25 cm / 14 X 10 inches does seem like a large size cardboard mailing. I would put it in a large envelope with those plastic bubbles, BUT the mail art call says definitely NOT in envelope :-(
My Greek postal clerks will not agree to send it, they always frown at me and say they will not take reponsibility if the "art" gets damaged.
I think the "Space" mail art exhibit in Russia wishes to have the art and the cancelled postage to be on the exhibited piece, probably will be hung and turning....from what I remember of the first Popov exhibit, it will be in a huge exhibition/communication hall.
Everyone is welcome to come and join us mail artists
at the Art Institute of Chicago, on the steps by the
south Lion, Michigan Avenue entrance, for a get-together!
Tuesday, September 28, 12 noon!
We'll go to a CAFE afterwards?
Bring your art, artistamps, ATC...your IUOMA cap,
your FLUXUS T-shirt, your Art DeTox bag...whatever!
See you there?
