Today we went into a cafe and had Sachertort (chocolate cake) a coffee and a tea and the bill was €22!

These are New York style and Kosher, the best, under the Magnolias

I wouldn't recognise a kosher if you smacked me over the head with it! HOW CAN A HOT-DOG BE KOSHER? Surely it's a contradiction of terms?

Pure beef is what we get, or tukey hotdogs, are signed and inspected kosher. No pork.

beef hot-dogs are yeuk! The turkey ones I might just be tempted to try... once, a hot-dog without a grunt is like a magnolia tree that smells of fish-and-chips. AND I don't want anybody signing my sausage, ta-very-muchly... are the magnolias in blossom??? Waah!!! now I miss my garden... not that I have magnolias mind you, Rowan, Cherry and Willow and.. if it survived the frosts and Olive tree.

The white flowers are the Star Magnolia

I am a frustrated gardener in Washington, DC. When I was married and living in the suburbs I had a hugh garden and fruit trees and blueberry bushes, I worked all season and froze for the winter, my parents would come over and pick tomatoes and whatever and take my frozen breads and casseroles home to eat. Zuchini, squash, pumpkin, strawberries, peppers, cucumbers, eggplants and more.

The same, it is just supposed to be earlier, this year the temps are different and they all seem to be blooming together, Very sexy petals, much more delicate that the regular magnolia, the southern magnolia is in August, big Gardenia size blooms.

I told you they would be back. I just did that for my daughter, cut her bushes back and they are sprouting all over. I bought a powerball lottery ticket so I have to stay up all night to see if I won the 70 million jackpot.

What does Talking Bird want?

Do any of you know the fantastic song by Roger Waters "What God wants God gets God help us all" from the solo album Amused to Death" which is an absolute masterpiece and one that sits firmly in my top five. What does Talking Bird want? Probably someone to talk to, maybe someone to clean the redundant seed from the bottom of his cage, he, undoubtedly will inform us in his own good time. Are we allowed to smoke in this cafe? I see Medwolf is stuffing his pipe with something.

I can't seem to get to the page of Ti Ar Raden, I sort of assumed it was him or her that your question was directed toward, was that an incorrect assumption? In my passport it says male and who am I to argue with her madjesties officials? Any female who has facial hair like mine needs some heavy hormones.... or is that where my problem lies? Help! I find myself up a bare magnolia tree sheltering from the snow. It's OK I'm going home tomorrow.

I opened it yesterday to make a pot, citrus and cardoman. Wonderfull for summer. I also have Black tea with Mango and Mint Green tea

If you're going to serve all that tea, you should invite Bruno.

Hi Rod, I just so happen to have a box of Jasmine and Green tea in my pantry. I like ginger snaps with my tea and have a box of those too.

This is going to be one hell of a party, cookies, tea, scones, jam, cream... but Peter... please don't bring the god squad! Nice, Judy, I like ginger buscuits too, am I permitted to dunk... ooh dear I gave away my commoner background didn't I? Sigh.

I love dunking, the longer the biscotti the better, chocolate on them too and almonds or hazelnuts. The ginger snaps get really soft and fall into the tea, I have to fish them out with a spoon. Horrors, did I give myself away!!
