Spammers Mail-Art

A Group where we can discuss how to deal with SPAMMERS in the Mail-Art.

Because there were now a few spammers on the IUOMA-group I made this group to see how we can deal with this. A new spammer was suddenly sending comments to all 400 members to advertise for ringtones. I removed this member to prevent further polution of the group. Did I act right?

I think you acted right amigo..we put up with spam everyday in our e-mails etc and this net work should be a spam free zone..well hmm thats what I think
  • Gik Juri

Yes, You were absolutely right! It was spammer, no doubt!
  • Denis Charmot

You were right Ruud. When you receive spam in your mailbox, do not open and above all, never respond. This allows spammers to validate your address and power supply. The valid address are selling $ 20 by million addresses.

Jennifer Jallof is willing to have contact with all of us.
She's going to tell us later why she is so interested in mail art.
Unfortunately she just left het hotmail, not het snailmail.
    ;-(

The spammer with name Jennifer Jallof (Tell you later) has been removed. She had no connection to mail-art and only left a hotmail-address. Her intention was to get e-mails from IUOMA-members so she could probably plan the next steps from there. Thanks to 5 IUOMA-members who sent me e-mails and also the reactions on the SPAMMER-group it was easy to just remove the messages and to ban this newcomer. When a social network gets larger it gets interesting for spammers as well......

Yes, tell me later, see you later.

You can always recognize a spammer on its / her / his behaviour.
  • Jan-Willem Doornenbal

I recognize a spammer on his/her/its blue eyes.

A new spammer came to our IUOMA-network. Her name: miss patricia gomo, and she was spamming several members with religeeos texts. Not connected to mail-art, art, or something closely related. To prevent her spamming the whole memberlist, she was banned.
  • Jan-Willem Doornenbal

This Phillyvenues who's new to the network seems somehow related to artists etc, but might very well be a spammer as well.
He is until now just advertising his own website, gives no address or MA-info and asks many people to be his friend.
Maybe I wrong and he'll be more enthousiastic tomorrow, after getting used to this place?
Anyhow it is less obvious than some others.
