sad news arrived today:

Hello Ruud.  My aunt, Patricia M. Tavenner, was one of the early pioneers of stamp art.  I know she is well known with the old timers in the profession.  Anyway, she is dying of cancer and does not have family in the area.  We are planning to handle her affairs remotely and take a single trip to California when the time comes.  Patricia has an interesting old heavy cast-iron stamp art machine along with many other archives.  It would be helpful if someone in the California area could come look at these items to see what we can do with them when the time comes.  Do you know of any stamp art artists in the Oakland California area?  Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

Hello- I occasionally make my own stamps for my mixed media art. As I am relatively new to IUOMA, I am enjoying my mail art journey thoroughly!.  I decided to create my own sheet of stamps (printed on self-adhesive paper),so that i can  put a stamp on whatever i send out.  This is the sheet I created- very simple.  You are welcome to copy it if you  like it. I drew the imagery and lettering by hand.Each stamp is 1 and1/8" wide by 7/8 " high.

To Borderline Grafix: great sheet of sailboat stamps!

Having fun with stamps today - I incorporated my mixed media art into 2 more IUOMA sheets of stamps.
