Also a great collab by Diane Keys, John M. Bennett and Sheila Murphy. Sheila Murphy is not well known in these parts, but she is a great experimentalist.
Here's a 'card' from Kosmo Vinyl which is, to me, asemic even though I've translated it into english and know what it says/means. When I look at it, I see no meaning other than perhaps the language.
Ferran Destemple (Spain) is an excellent visual poet. Richard believes Ferran's piece for the Karnival of Trash is asemic. And maybe it. See for yourself.
I've run a selection of work I consider vispo-asemic by Werner Krause (Vienna, Austria) on Asemic Front. I think the guy is awesome, especially in the area of digital asemics but he clearly uses some conventional calligraphy and street art as well.
You might be interested in my new AF piece "Asemic Writing and Grapheme-Colour Synaesthesia." (What? You likely ask). Grapheme-Colour Synaesthesia is the documented phenom of seeing ordinary words (b&w) and numbers in color. Ever notice how much asemic writing uses color? I found some interesting things.
I'm not a psychologist and grapheme-color synesthesia is beyond my ability to explain beyond what's on the blog. I know you have some limitations in terms of your ability to concentrate as well.
Grapheme-color synesthesia is a psychological condition that involves seeing words and numbers in color, where most people would see black and white and grey. There are additional associations as well.
My purpose was to point out how the use of color in visual poetry and asemics seems to be similar to grapheme-color synesthesia. I tried to point the reader toward further academic research.
Here is a link that shows some examples of what someone experiencing grapheme-color synesthesia might see:
I know some of you know the work of Jurga Sarapova (Lithuania) via FB. I think she is a great visual poet and have featured her on Asemic Front. I encourage you to take a look. I think she is really good.

Allison Anne is here! Welcome!
Yes, Richard. Ruud Janssen is taking the asemic world by storm these days. I am so glad to see the work in this group.
I'm absent a bit these days because I am launching Asemic Front and closing the Karnival of Trash. Three of Ruud's pieces have already appeared on AF.

Otherwise, I leave explaining to the psychologists among us.

I don't know how common it is, short-term or long-term.
That's the thing - a lot of visual poets, including you Moan Lisa, used colored text, letters, numbers.
The research suggests synaesthesia is connected to MEANING. So we might have color-coded language? That's where it gets hard to explain.
But I think you got it.
