Oh, and the bio. says Bob Grumman was a reviewer for JMB's Lost & Found Times too.

  • De Villo Sloan

Welcome to the group iWunder. I hope you'll participate.

Received asemics from Jim Leftwich. Many know him via Trashpo, which shouldn't obscure the fact he is a mighty interesting visual poet and asemic writer. Jim's active in the network.

Thank you for the welcome.  I participated in some asemics a few years ago.  Hope to be able to contribute again.

    I will. Always.

Thank You for always welcoming me!!! :)

  • Nancy Bell Scott

Hi Kerri. Your piece below is strong and rich--I absolutely love it.

  • De Villo Sloan

    Great piece. Thanks Kerri.

I did remixes of two pages of asemics by Diane Keys that she made for the Asemics 16 Collaborative Book Project (that was headquartered right here in our group). I'm pleased with the way they came out. I'd like to do more remixes of work people contributed to the project.

  • Susan McAllister

    These are beautiful.l
  • Nancy Bell Scott

Susan is right. And these are full. Of possibility? Possibility is always a presence in Diane's work. (Diehard fan here.) Whatever your remixing entailed, DVS, the results are beautiful. I especially love the first (top) one.

  • De Villo Sloan

I'm glad you like these. The remixing is just a matter of running the original scans through all the various color, clarity, contrast, etc. filters again and re-adjusting. Some tremendous work came out of Asemics 16, and I'll try to do some more. It could involve re-scanning as well. I have the books, but there has been some fading in the paper.

I saw an interesting article about "digital decay" - about how things that were posted online years ago do start to come apart and lose coherence and integrity in various ways. Why does color seem to fade? I would think a scan would be forever. Maybe it's improving scanner technology, bad scanning in the first place; but I am finding remixing can bring new life to a lot of this work.

Hello Rachel, welcome to the asemic writing group. Please feel free to contribute in any way you would like. And no question or statement is too simple nor too complex. We have a wide range of members. We're connected by, among other things, a belief in mutual support.

  • De Villo Sloan

I was able to cobble together a blog of new work by Kerri Pullo for M-L. At least one of the pieces, I think, has not been posted anywhere else. I re-posted another piece from our group in the blog. I'm proud, of course, that M-L released an e-book of Kerri's work last year.

Welcome Jason C. Motsch! Thanks for posting the great asemics. You fit right in already.

  • Jason C. Motsch

Thanks De Villo Sloan.  I think I'm getting the asemic bug.  It's very fun.

Anyone who has been in the group for a while knows Moan Lisa has...er...some non-traditional views about asemics. I received two envelopes from Moan recently that seem to be addressing asemics. You can draw your own conclusions, but I thought I would share.

And thanks again, Jason. FAB work!

  • Jason C. Motsch

Thanks again, De Villo.  I'm kind of new to asemics but find them pretty fascinating.  I really liked Moan Lisa's second envelope.  I look forward to posting more and seeing work by other artists.

fase 4 or 5 , I am not sure. Fase 7 would mean it is ready.....

  • De Villo Sloan

Jason, just great! Thx for sharing these.

And thanks to Ruud for these new versions of his renowned Fluxus charts. Looks like he's mapping the landscape of some current movements or new art directions, including the asemic craze. (And a lot of people are doing asemic writing these days, no question.)

    Thanks again all!

Received a thought-provoking piece from Erica Durante (New Jersey, USA).

De Villo and Visual Mom, awesome asemic works!!  Thanks for posting them.

  • De Villo Sloan

Jason - could I re-post some of your asemic work on the MinXus-Lynxus blog?

You're not really Mick, are you? Mick owes DKULTNY $500 for an Elgin Shroud Shred. That's all being dealt w/ on FB but am just curious.

  • Jason C. Motsch

That would be great De Villo.  Thank you!  As to Mick and I being one person, no, we are two separate people, lol.  I'll get on him to pay you the money he owes for the Shred.

  • De Villo Sloan

Five asemic pieces by Jason Motsch, originally posted in our humble group, are featured on the MinXus-Lynxus blog. I am trying to use more asemic writing on the blog.

    https://minxuslynxus2.wordpress.com/2015/05/10/asemics-by-jason-mot...

Maybe I should have called it "Five Easy Asemic Pieces" (if anyone remembers the film) because Jason's work appears to be so effortless, which is one thing I really like about them.

    Thanks again, Jason

  • Jason C. Motsch

Thanks again for posting my stuff on the MinXus-Lynxus blog, De Villo.  I really enjoy the other stuff I've seen on the blog. Peace!
