CIRCLES

Call them circles, call them dots, use a hole punch, use a template, draw them, scribble them, paint them, collage them. This is all about circles and how we make use of them.

Angie Cope, I sent you a postcard full of circles, but I'll refrain from posting it until I hear from you here that you have received it. I hope it comes to you quickly.

i love all kinds of circles and spots

Grethe and Helle, I also love all kinds of circles and spots and round shapes, and I love making art that features them too. Thanks for sharing your pictures of your circle art with us. They are both really cool! I hope to be able to trade some of my circle art with each of you in the near future, when I get a chance to catch up on my mail art backlog. Thank goodness mail art exchanges don't have deadlines or I'd be in a heap of trouble! LOL

  • Grethe Bjørnhaug

Thank you... I'm glad to hear that you like it :)

Hello everyone! Thanks for letting me join this group. I am making mail art like crazy right now and looking for people to whom I can mail it. I answer all mail art and I send back very quickly.

Circles seem like a great direction to go. I think that will be my focus for today. I have some ideas I want to try.

  • Mim Golub Scalin

I wanted to send something to the Mail Art call about music in Columbia, SA. So I punched out some circles from a magazine I got at the thrift store, added them to an existing piece of unsent Mail Art, et voila! My entries. I'm telling you all this because CIRCLES, my friends, are the answer to most problems!! (or something like that!) Enjoy!

  • Mim Golub Scalin

Oops, entry, just one! disregard the word "entries." Thanks.

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Yes, Mim, CIRCLES can answer many a problem

...'having fun printing and punching up many, many.

(a few pebbles to hod them as they dry in the great outdoors?)

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

  • Mim Golub Scalin

oooh, Katerina, like those circles and colors. Are you dipping a cap into paint? Ink? I like that technique.

  • Briana Learnihan

Hello - I'm new and would love to join the CIRCLES group - what do I have to do?  Thanks a million - Briana

  • Hi Briana, You've joined! It's that easy :) There aren't any rules, make mail art and include circles if you like then send it out there!

  • Grace Sanford

Oh I am so behind in posting, but trying to catch up today. A few days ago I received not one, but THREE postcards from Helle Pollas, all packaged together in one envelope. Thank you so very much. They are amazingly more colorful in person than in a photo, and I love them!

  • Briana Learnihan

Thanks a million Gina!  I will get some postcards out there ASAP

  • Grethe Bjørnhaug

I'm back home after a wonderful vacation in Crete. Here are two new cards. Unfortunately, the colors of the images are not quite right :)

Thank you, Jan Hodgman, for the wonderful circles postcard I received from you today! Even the back had some sly circles. So clever. :) I am hoping to carve out some time for mail art making tomorrow, and will be sending out something to you very soon.

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Wow, your scan, Angie, really brings out the PINK!

    Postcards from Helle:

  • Jan Hodgman

And envelope from Helle. I guess the US postal service didn't accept the secret code in upper right as postage......

  • helle susanne pollas

    hello jan :-9

i am sorry - i got you in trouble...

I use mobilpay, it work this way: i pay on my phone, get a number, write on the envelope, ( USA tax)- you and your post office can read about here: www.mobilporto.dk ( also in english) - it has happend one time before ( also in USA) - Wanda got the due, got the money back - i dont know why your post doesnt know this service, when we buy and pay, we have to choose denamrk, europe, rest of the world - let mee known, if you cant get the money back - just write me a message:-) one more time: i am so sorry, you have trouble with this // helle

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

No trouble in Greece, Helle! I thought maybe there were stamps that fell off, but this is a "code" postage paid...very clever!

I got your envelope and "Circle" art cards tonight.

    Many thanks!

  • Mim Golub Scalin

Jan, Helle, my post office accepted that coded postage. I wasn't charged for my packet. Jan, did you complain, explain? It's a good idea to get postage via mobile phone, but the USPS has no clue. Also, one time I took a packet to one of my post offices and had written The Netherlands on it, and the clerk said, I have no code for that. I said "try HOLLAND." She had a code for that. oh dear.

  • Grace Sanford

Helle, I received my envelope from you with the postage paid code on it with no trouble or paying extra. So we know some USPS offices are not so clueless, I happy to say.

  • Grace Sanford

I posted this postcard from Jan Hodgman yesterday in my Gallery, but forgot to show everyone here. Isn't it gorgeous?! Thank you Jan! I love it!

  • Grace Sanford

I received such fun circle postcards from Katerina Nicoltsou I am inspired to spend an afternoon very soon at my backyard table making my own batch of circle art to share with her and others. And I have included photos of the envelope which has such cute stamp art on it. Thank you Katerina!

  • Grethe Bjørnhaug

The other day I received this wonderful card from Katerina Nikoltsou. Thank you very much :)

  • Grethe Bjørnhaug

The other day I also received this wonderful card from Wanda Mortensen. Thank you very much :)
