Scattered Art Journals

I'm calling this group Scattered Art Journals.  I'm going to leave journals in places for people to find them, add to them, and pass them on or leave them for someone else to find.  Right now I have two journals, but I plan on adding more.

Do I expect to ever see them again?  Not really!  But you never know; there's a slight chance one could survive, and that adds just enough element of suspense to make me want to try it.

I thought it would be fun to make this group and document what happens.  It probably won't be very active, but again, you never know.

1. Feel free to join the group if you're curious to see what happens with my journals.

2. Feel free to tell us about your experience if you've ever done this.

3. Feel free to try this yourself and post here so we can see what happens with your journals.

Does anyone remember 1001 journals dot com, back when the general internet was wild and fun?  I signed up to be on the waiting list for several journals but i only managed to be sent just one to add art to - i wish i could revisit that journal to see what else was added.

it was fun but highly popular and hard to get in.

Very interesting project, Pam.

A few years back I left 14 envelopes with content randomly in Koblenz, Germany. Never heard anything back.

Good luck!

I've heard of leaving art in public places, often tucked inside books at libraries for example, but leaving a journal with space for random additions is new.  Good Luck with that endeavor, Pam!  Hopefully there will be participation by finders to enjoy.

I'm going to share this idea with a relative who has already participated with me on leaving art in public then documenting what happens next.

Did you release your first one yet? I'd love to hear where you left it. I hope you end up getting one back one day.

Once or twice, I found a journal while hiking, and contributed to it. I occasionally leave small art pieces in little libraries in my neighborhood. I was elated the day I found a zine in my usual spot!
