Hello everyone! Beautiful Kim & Kat! All these wondrous trips! ^_^ And happy to hear your news Susan!

btw Viz, I took pictures of your package (but not details of the tapes): http://www.studiocleo.com/mailart/

(Package begun for Kim I will finish when I return... %_^)

Hey Kim, if you have any extra room in your suitcase, I would LOVE it if you could pick me up some Japanese *ephemera (paper stuff meant to be thrown away)... %_^

I had looong talk/visit and delicious sushi dinner with my old roommate from college, Chi Cheng, yesterday - we had not seen each other in 25 years! It was just marvelous! She had a friend of hers who carves Chinese chops make some for me:

Aren't they gorgeous? I have such sweet, sweet friends! ^_^

*(Full Definition of EPHEMERA

1: something of no lasting significance —usually used in plural
2:  printed paper items (as receipts, postcards, flyers, advertisements, letters, stamps, handwritten notes, broadsides, newspaper clippings, ticket stubs, etc) that were originally meant to be discarded after use but have since become collectibles)
Love to you all!

Dear Friends,
I'm taking a good rest in Japan.
My Japanese sister is taking care of me very well.
I'm very happy with her 5 cats, too.
I'm going back to Korea next Monday.
Have a good day, Holics!

Comment by Claire (aka Cleo) on May 7, 2014 at 3:54am

Nice Kat!

Just got back (again)  - no washi buying though! Nonetheless, my friend picked me up some really cool old mags for collages (a paper show I sadly missed because of only 5 hrs sleep :( ). Some "Aero Digest" (1940s) & "Textile World" (1910s) - both full of images of great machines!  Yes Viz, I had just returned, but there was a William Burroughs centennial celeb. at my favorite performance space and another gig I just had to see, so... %_^ Aaanyway, will be here for almost 3 weeks this time, so hopefully I shall get all of the long promised packages out...

Well Kat, it will be a while anyway because I can't even remember what I had intended for you now (damnit!) Enjoy your travels!

Aaanyway, I do hope you're all washi encumbered, creative, and well!

I BET Claire is off to New York to buy MORE washi! Yay!

(but you need not send them to Greece until after June 1st...me off and traveling soon)

Oh yes, seeing her washi hoard: swoon-a-rama! :-)

Comment by vizma bruns on April 16, 2014 at 8:11am

Love that pickle! Too funny!

Wha..?? Claire you're off again? I thought you just got back?? Oh well, as long as you do more show and tell upon your return. I love it when you go shopping!! Swoon-o-rama!!!

And we're gettin' packets!!! EEeeeee weeeeeeee!! Thanks Claire, I can't waiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!!!xxx

Comment by Claire (aka Cleo) on April 15, 2014 at 9:16pm

Guess what girls? Packets gettin' ready to go for the 3 of you! Not sure I can finish & get to the PO before I leave (I don't have a car and gettin' there is a bitch!), but will see what I can fit in my stuffed suitcase to ship from ny...

@ Kat - ha ha ha - what a gas!

@ Kim - I've been collecting the limiteds so long the average 7.50-12 price is something I'm used to/expect by now... Those special "support shop" tapes were over-the top though! There were 7 designs and I wanted them all, but I just could not bring myself to go that overboard!

@ Viz - I use many diff dealers - I search Etsy daily pretty much when I'm in NJ.

There are more tapes from one of the packages - I spent over a month dealing w/ her - we had to do everything by email - she kept adding, and I kept adding...%_^). Aaanyway, busy now gettin' ready/will get more up when I return...

Oh, Claire! Those are dreamy washi rolls! What treasures...expensive, I bit, but sooooo nice!

There was a all-washied up PICKLE in my mailbox today, gals:

This is from JessiebyDesign in Nebraska....

very odd shaped postcard and great "postal" washi!

Comment by Kim JungYoun on April 15, 2014 at 1:47pm

Wowwowwowwowwow~~~~~!!!!!
Claire, yours are super wonderful!
The limited and factory tour washis are very expensive, aren't they?
Thanks for showing us them. :)

Comment by vizma bruns on April 11, 2014 at 4:01am

Sheesh! Do you have weekly/daily tape deliveries?? WOW! Thanks for the show and tell!! Number 3 and 5 are on my shopping list, 7 is cool too, hmm, I'd like a snippet of the first mossy green roll too, aaargh.... now who's your dealer, Dinsmore???

Comment by Claire (aka Cleo) on April 10, 2014 at 10:22pm

I got bunnies too - I love them! The other side is my favorite side of the card though. Thanks Kat! ^_^

Is that cool or what?!!! (And there's the tape I sent ^_^)

Comment by Claire (aka Cleo) on April 10, 2014 at 10:16pm

Another package from Japan arrived today! Enclosed were 3 special "mt support shop" tapes - they are tapes that were produced by mt to be given out at specific "support shops" during mt's factory tour. These cannot even be bought at mt so they're probably the rarest of all tapes." (Words of the woman I got them from (absurdly expensive, but once an addict...%_)
