Bonjour boys and girls and cats too, of course!
Our Leader, Momma Kat (sounds like the Mamas and Papas?) asked me to come up with an idea for a new Group mailing.
Here it is.
It is called 'CATplus'.*
It works like this. You have to compose a Mail Art piece that combines two things:
i) an image of a cat, or cats or something feline. This is the 'CAT' element of the mailing.
ii) another object that is linked to a cat in the form of a word. This is the 'plus' element of the mailing.
Here are some examples of 'CATplus' words (and you can find others in a dictionary):
CATacomb
CATalogue
CATalyst
CATamaran
CATapult
CATechism
CATegory
CATerpillar
CAThedral
CAThode
CATholic
CATtle
CATwalk,
and so on and so forth.
This is how I suggest the 'CATplus' mailing works:
A) everyone is invited to join in
B) those who decide to do so must select their 'CATplus' word, and
C) inform the person who is responsible for the Mailing list (not me, 'cos I had the idea),
D) and then we will all send each other our 'CATplus' piece which is to be mailed on or before 1 September, 2011.
That's the 'CATplus' concept. Suggestions to change it are very welcome.
I hope you will join in.
Regards, le tour de Val and his mogs -- BianCA(T) [!]  & Trouble

* there are also 'CATminus' words  -- such as tomCAT, musCAT, sCAT, bobCAT etc -- but I don't think these are so interesting, and we don't really need to include them, me thinks

PS If the other Cat Group is still in existence should we invite it's members to join in???

OOOOppps ,  I mailed all my CATplus - CAThedral postcards yesterday. Eight in total. If anybody else joins i will send one also.  Sorry if i send so early. The inspiration came and i finish so soon.
Ooops indeed! Roberto's cat is well and truly out of the bag. (Or in the mail box). Regards, JE Sweefoo
Roberto's wonderful CATplus cards arrived today. Thanks!

On my list, I also have Cernjul Viviana (Cataratas del Iguazú).

????

I've got my piece ready to mail out, and I'm planning to post copies to each person on the list tomorrow morning.

It's a folded greeting-type card, with the images on the inside, and will be mailed in a clear plastic envelope.

The bit that sticks out on the lower right, the piece with the blue cat, is a sticker that wraps around and is stuck to the back of the card.

Enjoy!

She's my little baby girl ... purr!

Mail art delivery to the seaside shack today brought more CATplus! Thank you, Fleur, chaosatlanta, Cheryl and Angie!!!

I also have received from Caherine and Roberto...keep 'em coming ;-)

CATS from Kemal and Linda have arrived in Greece! thank you so much!

From Lynn and Elizabeth in Troy! Thank you so much, 'love the painting and cat details on envelopes!

This "cat" is from Roland Halbritter (not in our mailing), a definite candidate for our CATegory of CATplus!

CAT on envelope ..and inside on add 'n pass paper! Meow, meow.

Two cat+ mail today: Angie & Snooky and Chaosatlanta. The catalog cat from Angei and C.Smit's zombie kitty guarding the catacombs. Wonderful both are.
