When's the last time you sent a letter or postcard? This meetup is open to regular writers or those who haven't put pen to paper for years.

Your host, Andy, is a dedicated fan of the postal service and has been sending and receiving letters and postcards all over the world for more than 4 years. Today, he invites you to come and share his passion for the post at the best place in London for postal inspiration, The British Postal Archive opposite London's most famous postal sorting office, Mount Pleasant in Farringdon.

The plan is to take a one hour tour of the postal museum archive, going behind the scenes to look at the collections, which span over 2.5 miles of shelves covering social, postal and design history from as far back as 1636.

We will then go into a pub/coffee shop where Andy will give you a tour through some of his personal mailart collection, artworks sent from all over the world to his postbox, mainly from people he's never met and will talk you through how to get involved in mailart.

After this, we'll be free to write letters and send art to people in the post. You can choose to send to family and friends or if you're up for it, you can send some to strangers and see what you get back.

As usual, bring your own stationery.
