Bonjour Happy Philatelic Historians!

Here is another Quiz for you.

This time you have to identify the stamp below, and say why it is of some importance for us as postal Historians.

The Quiz is open for one week -- ie until noon CET on Thursday 17 March (St Patrick's Day)*

The Prize is a genuine stamp that is related to the Quiz stamp.

It will be awarded, by the Postal History Boutique's International Panel of Judges**, to the best answer received in the next week.

Good Luck,

Regards Val

* Clue: the stamp is not linked in any way I can think of to St Pat.

** The Postal History Boutique's International Panel of Judges is comprised of -- Valentine Mark Herman, Val Herman, VMH, and Mark Herman. Appeals to any decisions of the International Panel of Judges can be made to the Postal History Boutique's Appeal Court, which is comprised of Valentine Mark Herman, Bianca la Chatte Herman, and Trouble le Chat Herman

GB 1 penny

of Prince Albert Consort essay

made by Henry Archer and was used to practice his PERFORATIONS!

And he was advised to NOT use the image of Queen Victoria, so he used Prince Albert.

The One Penny was made in red-brown and black and this one is one of the issues NOT perforated.

But the BLACK Prince Albert, 1 penny, issued in 1850 was perforated

Yours truly,

Princess Kate ;-)

Just me...where is the Panel of Judges?

Am I guilty or not-guilty???

The Clerk to the Postal History Boutique's Panel of Judges wishes to inform the Applicant, Ms Nikoltsou, that it has received her enquiry, but no judgement on either her query or her original submission can be considered by the Judges until the pre-announced time of the closure of the Quiz, noon CET on Thursday 17 March.

(Privately he says that it was a remarkably good answer, and congratulates her for it)

I'm impressed...

Ah, yes, decision comes on St. Pat's Day!

And said Clerk will continue to wear that Leprechaun Hat until said date, yes?

Also, credit must be given to source of GB 1 Penny info:

"You can google ANYTHING!"  ;-)

Even so...knowing how to google is an art in itself....

If Googling (sic, et ugh) is an 'art', what is Mail Art?

Discuss, in no more than 50 words, with reference to Napoleon 111 and walmart.

The winner is KATERINA!

For the correct identification and perfect description of the stamp.

Her prize will be forwarded to her next week (when she returns from Turkey).

Signed and approved,

The Postal History Boutique's International Panel of Judges

Thank you, thank you, and a Happy St. Pat's Day to ya all!

A real, geunine One Penny! That is special.

Did I say it would be a real genuine One Penny? It could be a unique One Penny Green -- if I can find my green crayon! Congratulations on winning the Prize!

Enjoy Istanbul, Regards, Val

Princess Kate
