morning cp-sa. That's a Godard quote, yes. Very topical. He also said "To be or not to be. That's not really a question". He's right. Book type artifact ;-))) I like...
Ah - Marie - good morning :-) Back to the original thread if I may - I think it was Jean Godard who said - I agree that a film should have a beginning, a middle and an end but not necessarily in that order… - sorry its not a gangster/grigster story, but there we go... De Villo that fact that a book-type-artifact is coming from you is cause for celebration - I'll open a good bottle of cabernet for the occasion - not quite 30's but close enough - let me know if you're in the vicinity on arrival date :-) XX
Dw, please be good. I was starting to think you were quite good in your new role of mail-art analyst.
Pretty Boy Floyd, that is. I was distracted by the thought: "Can a hole be inside a hole?" And several different names were being suggested that got minxed up.
I'm sure my stories bore you. Yet you follow the advice of the Mail-Art Psychic: "Pretend you are interested." Remember that?
Girgori :-))) That sounds good. Girgori Antonym. But it's too flattering to his image. And so is the G-man gangsta kind of figure. But I like the historical fact behind it, thanks for the story Dw!
Note to self: New name for GA - Girgori Antonym.
You know where G-Man comes from? In the '30s in the US there were notorious bank robbers - Bonnie & Clyde, Baby Face Nelson, Pretty Boy Malone (Warhol did a series of paintings of these gangsters). J.Edgar Hoover unleashed a legion of government crime fighters to stop them who had this tough guy, clean cut image. They became known as Government Men or G-Men. In the Depression, the people actually cheeredd for the bank robbers.
Dw, if you could zoom in enough you would find out about the signification of this particular whole. But it's more fun like that.
The signification of the hole is a challenge in this piece.
I'm turning that over to Dark wall. I think he's ready.
