Just currious (and others are as well). How many pieces of Mail-Art did you send out through the regular mail. Mention the month and the numbers.......

An addendum to our previous post:

Between 1 April 2008 and 2 May 2009, Cascadia Artpost has sent 1,084 pieces out through the regular mail. For future artistamp mailings, I keep a mailing list of 110-120 names at any given time. A small number of individuals are friends who simply enjoy receiving mail-art but do not create any of their own, but the larger number represents individuals who have sent us something at least once during the past year.

Of course this amount of mailing has grown more expensive. U.S. postal rates have increased during the last two years, with another increase scheduled to take effect on 11 May. The international rates are now the same for postcards and standard-size envelopes, with surcharges for large envelopes and pieces that exceed the Post Office's standard dimensions; for domestic mail, post card rates are still significantly less than first-class rates (the new rate will be 28 cents for postcards, 44 cents per first-ounce for standard envelopes). I no longer try to remember international rates and surcharges but instead go on-line after weighing and measuring the piece to be mailed.

Since 2001, all of the artistamps and mail-art created by Cascadia Artpost have been collected in two blank-page German-made Lindner postage stamp Falzlos "T" albums. Both albums are at capacity, so this year a third album will be purchased. During the first few years I was diligent in writing descriptions and notes to accompany the mounted stamp sheets and postcards, but the last two years I have fallen behind. I like Lindner for the quality of their looseleaf albums and the wide variety of formats of display pages available for purchase, and recommend their albums for displaying what you have created. (It is always nice to have an album to show others what are artistamps and mail-art!) The blank pages I have found most useful for the "T" album are #802106 (for full sheets of stamps) and #802208 (for postcards).

Last month (August), Cascada Artpost mailed 164 pieces, but that was a particularly heavy month. In July, we posted only twice, in part due to a switchover to a new computer and being away several times from home. In May, a more typical month, we mailed 27 pieces.
