In 2025, Ákos Székely, avant-garde artist, visual poet, a leading figure in Hungarian assemblage, mail art and fluxus, would have turned 80. The aim of this mail art call is to pay tribute to Ákos Székely's life's work and personality.
We are looking for works that reflect on the following theme: 5 arguments.
Ákos Székely considered it important to develop the debating skills and critical thinking of his students. Open debates took place in his classes on all literary and artistic questions. A fundamental rule was that participants had to support their points with 5 arguments.

i have to drop an application soon and i am looking for 2-4 other artists willing to join this adventure.

ARTARTIST DÜSSELDORF GERMANY 2025

This is the initiative to form a group of 4-6 artists who want to spontaneously, quickly and bindingly take part in an exhibition in Düsseldorf in April 2025. First of all, it is only about applying as a group!

The conditions:

1. You must give me a binding commitment by March 1st.

2. You accept that I am the "spokesperson" of the group.

3. You accept my selection, depending on the responses to this letter.

The application for the exhibition at Artartist is open to all groups and / or formats that consist of

at least three or more artists. Individual applications are not possible.

• Participation in performances and live programs [e-mail]

• All forms of art are welcome, (almost) all sizes and formats are feasible.

• Each group is represented by a spokesperson. The speaker is the contact person for all matters and also sends the application documents.

• Each group covers its own expenses/costs.

• Each group is responsible for the care, design, supervision and cleaning of its space.

• Each group organizes its own tools / wall paint / ladders / transport aids.

• Each group organizes delivery, collection, assembly and dismantling itself.

• Each group takes care of the labeling of the works at their locations.

• No smoke, no loud continuous noise, no residue after dismantling.

• The art on display is not insured. All exhibitors are liable for damage themselves, in the sense of a free trade fair.

• Participation from the age of 18, at your own responsibility and risk.

• No liability for property damage.

IMPORTANT: The application is based on the photos or information of the works to be exhibited.

For conceptual art, performances or installations, for example, please use photos, videos or

links to previous works. The so-called application here is primarily about

organizing the rooms to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: March 15, 2025

OPEN TOURS: March 21 + 22 from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

PRE-MEETING: April 4-5, 2025

SETUP FROM: April 7, 2025

DURATION: April 11 - April 13, 2025

My concept:

As a group, we are putting up works of art that deal with social art in the broadest sense. Everyone is free to suggest a work. The works are shown on easels. Each work is assigned an object from the #buenavistacervera project. These works invite you - as benches - to sit down and look at the work in peace. Each bench also offers the opportunity for social interaction.

In the first step, I would like to find out whether there is interest. If enough artists respond to this letter, I would like to go through the application documents and enter the data on the artists involved into the registration form and then send off the application.

one bed / one room / access to working spaces and the art camp (4.5 ha artist camp in nature)
fee for application: NONE !
fee for residence: NONE!

open for single parents with one kid (kid under 12 is free!)
minimum stay 1 week, max. 3 weeks
daily contribution to food and drinks: 30 euros / day (cash when you arrive)
the art camp is a social adventure in CASAdelDRAGON and you contribute to the daily life (cleaning, cooking, shopping).
wifi / internet - no tv - non smoking (!)
