Hello, greetings from Japan!

I hand-carve stamps. I am a new member  in IUOMA and am now wanting mail art friends whom I can exchange mail art with. If you would like to exchange mail art with me, please feel free to send me a friend request and/or message me ! :-)

Wishing you all fabulous 2023!

Cheers,

Kiki

No, I would send you envelopes with my Japanese stamps on them and hope you would just drop them in a mailbox. I would send 2 and ask you to mail them a week or so apart. You could send your address to my email address: mft@att.net.

you can see my work on my website: michaelthompsonart.com

thanks,

michael

Okay, I can do that. I have just sent you my address with a friend request.

Hi Kiki.

I visited your beautiful country last year. Loved it! Hopefully I can visit again in the not too distant future. I'm a writer and photographer, but I'm just getting started with this whole mail-art thingy. Sounds like a great way to fuse my written and photo work and share it with everyone. I would also love to learn how to hand-carve stamps. I'm always looking for things to add to my notebooks (clippings, stickers, etc.) so stamps would also be great for that. Are there any video tutorials you recommend?

I learned eraser-stamp carving from books and my teacher is named Tomoko Tsukui. She has a website and youtube videos showing how to carve. i think you can find more videos on stamp carving with the searching words like linocut, carving stamps, etc. Good luck!

Earlier today I looked around on Amazon and added some books to buy in the near future: linocuts, wood block printing, etc. Can't wait to start practicing. :-)
