Who will you send  your first piece of mail to? I've been thinking about this a lot. Will it be someone in this group? Will it be one of the many mail artists I've exchanged MA with over the years? Will it be one of my letter writing friends, or my artist friends, a complete stranger? Do I put names in a "hat" and pull one randomly? What have you decided to do? This is really, truly, something I've been pondering. Okay, enough, now I'm off to see a movie.

I love it! Go for it, that idea kinda brings mail art full circle, to its roots!
That is such a great idea!
I wasn't too sure how we went about sending....I'm so glad I found this thread. I'm used to arranged swaps when sending. I love the idea of sending to a random person, but also fear that a little as I have come across some profiles on PostCrossing that say they don't want handmade cards (heatbreaking ;p). Anyway, I will explore this site much more and send 1st June!
Are you new to MA365? Do you have your land mail address posted on your page. hmm, I'll check. I'd love to send you MA, no swap necessary. I do random mailing.
I am and do - I LOVE, LOVE the idea of random mailing - makes me so happy! :P
Thank you, I would cherish some MA!
We have an IUOMA postcrossing group? Where have I been? I send through Postcrossing all the time. Okay, on to the subject. Yes, I will send to non-mail artists and non-artists. Probably people with whom I've corresponded over the years. Still don't know who'll get numero uno.
Good luck to everyone taking this challenge. I think it's admirable. I make art most days but won't be doing the challenge. I support all of you though!!!
Well, today is Dec. 1 downunder and I have made and sent my 1/365 and I sent it to Andy. Seemed a natural choice. I think what I'll need to do is maybe plan out who I will send out to about a week at a time. I liked Kiera's suggestion of putting peoples names down on the calendar in advance. I fear that if I make the MA then say "hmmm, who should I mail t to"? that I will keep sending to the same few people. I'd like to spread the projects recipients out as far as I can.
On the subject of sending to non mailartists I think it's a really good thing to do. All the time I'm telling people about what I do and I have to explain all about what mailart is if they'd ever recieved a piece MA they would know and hopefully get turned on and want to start themselves. As Cate Blanchett said in a forum on playwriting and the importance of public theatre recently "Before Shakespeare could write a play, he had to go see a play". That said, if you send to other mailartists you're more likely to get something in return :)
I'll send mail to anyone with a pulse.
That's very funny Kiera!

It's also very true. I'm not terribly discerning. It takes a lot of people to get to 365. ;)

Are you trying to not repeat  the receivers? That would be hard. This is only day 10 so I haven't repeated any yet, I wasn't planning on not repeating but it is a tantalizing proposition.
