Fire Monkey Body Surfing the Great Wave - from RCBz

I sometimes wish RCBz would be around to tell us more about his pieces. I know I really like this card, but I can't explain exactly why. Esthetically, Hokusai's wave is always a winner. The card is built very simply around it. No frills whatsoever, and the back of the card is equally sober, stripped-down to the address. Is is a reference to the tsunami? Why the monkey? Why on fire? In any case, it's another great card by RCBz, thank you for sending!

It's been hard to get the surfing monkey out of my head. I'll go with the tsunami explanation.

Heres something interesting :-) - I asked RCBz to do something with The Bridge # 3 - I hopefully will still get to blog it - in THIS lifetime! :-) X

I like it's surrealism too. I think Vizma got the explanation for it. She suggested body surfing, which, when connected with the tsunami.... pretty twisted!!

An RCBZ I like a lot - what's not to like about a flaming monkey surfing on a coffin? He's so meticulous that I think there is usually a reasoned explanation, but I just enjoy the surrealism of it. I don't identify with everything he does, but this one is definitely a fav. Thanks for posting.
