Counterfeit Stamp Scheme Nearly Derails a Vermont Nonprofit's Fundraising Campaign

This article appeared in Vermont's Alternative Newspaper Weekly, Seven Days, and I immediately felt it was appropriate news for the IUOMA community (particularly in the United States, where a majority of this scamming appears to be taking place).  I have, myself, actually come across these "discount" postage stamp websites that claim that they can sell postage stamps at a reduced rate (up to HALF-OFF!) because they purchase stamps in bulk.  THIS IS A SCAM.   These postage stamps are COUNTERFEIT.    DO NOT PURCHASE POSTAGE STAMPS EXCEPT FROM FEDERALLY RECOGNIZED OR AUTHORIZED POST OFFICES!!  If something seems too good to be true, THEN IT VERY LIKELY IS!!

A link to the newspaper article can be found HERE (click), for those who might have trouble enlarging or reading the photographed article...

Thanks. I almost fell for it once, but then yes the prices looked too good to be true. And the website looked fake enough to raise suspicions.
