"What was your favorite thing about today?"

"Opening our mail!"

ART CLASS was great! We ended up with three items for each student!! They were AMAZED when I explained the BRAIN CELL with a real envelope from JAPAN and they perused and showed each other mail from far flung destinations--California, New York, Canada, Greece, Spain, UK. I talked about DADA and FLUXUS, IUOMA, ATC, OPZ... We made ATCs and postcards and envelopes. They loved receiving STICKERS! Two things I had not anticipated... The students had difficulty reading the cursive handwriting of Richard C, and they had no idea how to address an envelope. Seriously. For the next presentation, I will start there. I'll be sending a story zine and thank you to all who sent items.

THANK YOU, everyone, for making this fun presentation a REAL SUCCESS.

Hooray! It happened and it sounds like it went well. (I've been gone for several days--only having brief moments to check in here. I am sorry for my late response here.)  Aside from stickers, what else did they like? I'm sure the others included things like zines, add-&-passes, etc. How fun. i do hope they liked your class and hopefully some will try to become mail artists as well. Congratulations! CHEERS!

That was awesome, Coco! I couldn't send it due to the short deadline, from Brazil it wouldn't arrive in time. But I enjoyed following your description of the class and I hope that new actions will happen from that.
